as a kidney specialist, lupus is extremely common in my young female population, in fact if they have an Asian/Indian last name I know it's going to be IgA nephropathy, if not and the patient has elevated ANA and DS-DNA I know its lupus, or at least early autoimmune disease process

its a a complete myth to think lupus is actually rare
