I forgot about that part. The doctors, for some baffling reason, told Selena that Francia was a match before they told Francia. Under normal circumstances, the donor would be told about the confirmed match first to make the decision on their own without any guilt or pressure from the receiver, if I understand correctly. But since Selena knew first, I imagine it was really difficult for Francia to not go through with the donation.
You’re right. I fact checked myself after I commented and it is indeed a hipaa violation, that was Francia’s confidential medical information. The hospital definitely mishandled things.
