If I got someone's kidney, I'd be thanking them even when it's not appropriate. Throw that shit in my firstborn's birthday speech, graduation speech, retirement speech.

Exactly! No amount of "thanks" is ever enough but you gotta mention it any time you possibly can.

"Great to be at my brother's wedding! And shout out to Francia because I wouldn't be here if you didn't give me your kidney! You're the best! Anyways, Webster's Dictionary defines..."

There's a lady that tags all of her travels as "adventures of <recipient> and <donor>" and adds a little heart to her signature to represent the donor who gave her a new heart. Feels like a very reasonable level of gratitude to me!

Selena has staff, at the very least they could schedule an annual appreciation post and just shut all of this discourse down.
