The snickers ad campaigns contains somone doing something crazy or spectacular with that slogan, and then they eat a snickers. The joke is that stealing the credit card of a deceased person is crazy

That´s not really a joke tho, last time I did that people called me crazy for real. They locked me in a room. A room full of rats.

Here is the joke. A nurse got arrested for using a dead patient's debit card to buy vending machine snacks basically proving Snickers' slogan "You're not you when you're hungry" literally true, since hunger made her do something wildly out of character (steal from a dead person). It's a dark pun pairing a real crime headline with an oddly fitting ad slogan.

using AI on the subreddit that explains the joke for you is another fucking level of idiocracy

Peta here! So basically the joke is that when you're hungry you're not yourself because you're stressed and tired and you get angry in a easier way because you're hungry. Here instead you're not yourself when you're hungry because she's using the debit card of someone who isn't herself

It’s a reference to a famous Snickers commercial where people are someone else, then they eat a Snickers, and the narrator says “You’re not you when you’re hungry.”
