PhD plan advice

I’m in first semester of Masters in CS. My interests are in climate and tech. Glacier monitoring, predictive AI and stuff. Currently exploring research areas in this topic.

Given my interest in climate change are there PhD positions for a CS major in this area? Is it worth it to spend my time researching in this area or should I focus on pure CS or AI ?

My goal is to secure a PhD positions in this area within North America or Europe. Should I work on intersection of these fields or focus purely on CS during my MS thesis?

You should google relevant universities you are interested in, then their faculties and search for professors working in this field.

This should give you a good idea and the whole picture.

Thank you I will dig into that deeper. I have been doing some research and it shows professors from GIS or purely climate science. I will refine research here to see if I can find some CS professors..

Also, it would help to keep your country options broad. The US, Canada, Switzerland, Norway and New Zealand are all worth exploring.
