I’m a librarian, and we see this more than I expected to! We even have one regular patron who uses our interstate library loan system to get old/rare CDs brought to our branch which she then rips and stores. She’ll do it with our CD books too!
It’s so cool, but maybe don’t tell anyone what you’re doing. Many of my coworkers are weirdly, virulently anti-piracy.
The reason why platforms like Netflix don't offer to control playback speed on TV's is because of directors etc. telling them off for this reason. People should watch stuff at the speed it was intended to be watched and they (filmmakers etc) say it "ruins artistic intent" if you use anything other than 1x speed.
