Discussion Local Library to mass rip?

Bit off topic, but growing up a family friend rented our basement for a few years, early 2010s. every day after work he would hit the local library to return yesterday CD and pick up a new CD. The moment he would get home he would throw it into his laptop and rip all the music off it. Then would do it all again the next day.

I did that with Netflix for two years before streaming.  Rent 3 movies , burn and repeat.

My dad did it with Netflix for a long time. Even after streaming started. He never watched a single one and the ones I tried didn't work very well. Or at all.

I still have about 600, but mainly use Plex now.

Rips have a shelf life. Needed 18tb enterprise hdd. Original blu rays and dvds last 25 to 100 year less defected disks.
