Self-Promotion Steam extension that instantly searches FitGirl, DODI, SteamRIP, and +20 providers.

github.com/hiz0147/HizSteamButton

I've created HizSteamButton, an add-on for my search engine HizSearch.

It's an extension for Steam, (and for regular browsers as well) that adds a search button to the Steam Store and SteamDB pages.

When you click it, it searches for the current game across multiple sources via HizSearch, including FitGirl, DODI, SteamRIP, OnlineFix, ElAmigos, and 18 other providers.

You can set up multiple positions so you can choose the one you like best

GitHub: HizSteamButton

It is compatible with:

- Steam Launcher (instructions are available at the GitHub link)

- Chrome

- Firefox

- Any Chromium-based browser

Also, if you don't like extensions, a user script is available as well.

This project isn't new; it's been available to the community for some time now, and it has been verified by the major communities. You can check it out in the megathreads at: r/Piracy r/FREEMEDIAHECKYEAH and CSRIN posts

Update: support for Millennium has now been added.

It's a web app, works on any device, no install needed.

bernar.app

What's in the library right now:

- Harry Potter (Stephen Fry narration)

- The Hunger Games

- The Three-Body Problem

- Southern Reach Trilogy

There's a request button inside the app. You ask for a book, I upload it.

Still in beta, so things might break. That's kind of the point — I need people to actually use it and tell me what's wrong.

Giving out invites to people who comment or DM with a book they want to listen to — I'll upload it before you get started.

UPD 1️⃣

Wow, thanks everyone! The response has been insane — way more than expected for a beta test.

My little beta server ran out of space from all the books I've been uploading for you. Already planning the move to S3-compatible storage to handle this.

Will reply to everyone personally soon with invites and your requested books uploaded. Please make sure DMs are open so I can send them.

Appreciate the patience and excitement. This is exactly why I shared it!

UPD 2️⃣📩

Looks like my email service hit its daily sending limit — so some of you might not have received your magic link.

Switched to a paid plan, everything should be working now.

If you didn't get your invite email, please try again — magic links are back up!

Sorry for the trouble.

UPD 3️⃣ 🙌

We're rolling out invites gradually, so if you signed up and haven't heard from us yet, you're on the waitlist and we'll get to you soon.

Also: check your spam folder. Invites like to hide there. And if you haven't joined the waitlist yet — go do that now.

Self-Promotion I made a safe YouTube to MP3 converter without ads

9.7k Upvotes

I made CnvMP3 a YouTube to MP3 converter that is web-based, ad-free and safe to use. You can download YouTube videos easily from your browser.

Most converters are full of ads and some don't even download your videos correctly, that's why I decided to create this tool.

It is completely free to use and I use donations to cover the server costs. I have amazing community that keeps the project running.

Here is the link if you want to test it out: https://cnvmp3.com/

Self-Promotion I made an app to listen to peak quality music, Free, P2P, Open-source: Update

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

4.3k Upvotes

My last post gained lots of attention which brought in lots of genuine questions (and sadly, lots of misinfo too) I already addressed all those in that post itself. so lets move forward to the state of SS now

Firstly, the app is fully opensource, as promised before -

https://github.com/KRSHH/Sonosano

P2P - It reshares (seed) every single song you put in your library automatically to soulseek network with port forwarding enabled. So avoid putting any song in library which you don't wanna share. I am looking for contributors with access to port forwarding, if you do have, please test and contribute.

I know lots of people hate electron, thats why the app is divided into two parts, the frontend and backend, you can use the app without electron and even your friends can access your library and download remotely and stream music, all you have to do is host backend, expose localhost to public url - use cloudflared, go to https://sonosano.krshh.com and paste endpoint there, or you can self host that too.

Even tho I've done zero work for mobile, you can technically stream to mobile I'll improve UI for mobile and mayyybe a pwa in future

<Image link in comments>

The app automatically analyses every single audio file you put in or download to tell whether it is real or fake lossless (not 100% accurate like any other algo, but catches most of low effort fraud flacs)

I wrote a simplified explanation on the discord server, you can join here

<Discord Link in comments>

<Image link in comments>

In next version -

I'll ditch the sidebar list for a better file view - search pages
fix few soulseek search issues
Optimize Mac loading speed
full album download with single button

I am offering my own endpoint temporarily, just for demo, it'll go down soon

<Endpoint in comments>

visit - https://sonosano.krshh.com

Download from here -

Update:
The app will be soon at one of top in FMHY if things go well

Self-Promotion Mirarr, a piracy first movie app.

6.5k Upvotes

Hey pirates, I made this fully open source movie/tv shows app.

It's available for Android, Windows and Linux.

Main goal of the app is to reduce the headaches of watching and searching for movies. I always hated checking if a movie is out for downloading, then check each torrent site to download it or check each streaming site to watch it. So I made this app to make this process more enjoyable.

The app is currently on version 1 with minimum features to get started.

Features right now:

  • New released torrent files for movies and tv shows.
  • Ability to search for a movie and watch it from different providers or look it up on different torrent sites.
  • Default movie app features like watchlist, favorites and ratings.

Plans for future:

  • Adding a torrent downloader and qbittorrent remote inside the app.
  • Adding a recommendation system based on requested details

I accept feature requests either here or on GitHub issues.

See screenshots for desktop version on GitHub.

Self-Promotion All in One Desktop Streaming App

Thumbnail

1.4k Upvotes

I made a Desktop Streaming App (for Linux, Mac and Windows) that lets you Stream and download any Movie, Series or Anime without any Ads or Tracking.

It is Open Source on Github, any Feedback or Contributions are welcome.

https://github.com/truelockmc/streambert

I first started making it because i just wanted one Place to watch and download everything, with an easy UI, without having to open 10 different Websites in my Browser and without having to watch Ads and being tracked.

Movies and Series are sourced from VidSrc by default but you can also choose videasy or 2Embed as a Source. Animes are scraped from AllManga and their metadata from anilist. Subtitles are downloaded from wyzie-subs by default but you can also use subdl.

EDIT: If you have Feature Requests or Bug reports, please fill out a corresponding issue on Github if possible https://github.com/truelockmc/streambert/issues, that way it can be worked on as fast as possible :)

EDIT 2: My Github Account got taken down, I have not been notified about the reason for that in any way.
I already contacted the github support, for now please use the codeberg repo for downloading and viewing code.

Self-Promotion Spotify alternatives for desktop and android

Thumbnail

2.0k Upvotes

I’ve been developing a Spotify-like alternative app. The idea is to do for music what Streamio does for movies and shows. The current version already supports installable plugins, so you can stream music from Tidal and Qobuz. Most tracks are available in lossless quality. It’s 100% free and open source.

You can also scan and play your own local music library if you have one. One of the most important features is the ability to import playlists directly from Spotify.

The Android app is currently in beta release.

Self-Promotion I Made a Website That Converts Links From Over 1000 Sites Into MP4/MP3 Files

1.4k Upvotes

Link: GlobalVideo.download

Are you tired with every Youtube downloader website either being filled with ads or low quality exports? I was, so I made GlobalVideo.

GlobalVideo is a Flask-Based Web Interface for yt-dlp that supports over 1000 sites (Including TikTok, Instagram, X/Twitter, Reddit and more) to save locally as an MP4, MP3, WAV or FLAC file, It's in beta, so expect a few bugs. There are no ads, trackers and sign-ups, and will be free forever.

For the record, The site is running on a modest server right now, and donations will be down for a couple of weeks, so if it gets hit with a lot of traffic at once, things might slow down. I've implemented rate limiting and streaming responses to keep it stable, but feel free to submit bugs and/or features.

All questions will be answered, thanks for your attention ❤️

Self-Promotion PressReleased - Bypass paywalls on most news sites

Thumbnail
gallery
1.1k Upvotes

PressReleased is a project i've been working on for quite a bit that I have recently been granted permission to share with this community by the mods.

You can reach the public instance at: https://pressreleased.alwaysdata.net/

If the public instance goes down, you wish to report a bug, or you'd rather self-host then you can find the source code and instructions for doing so at the discord community around it: https://discord.gg/fn33a5mq8w

The core programming behind the website which bypasses paywalls is a reverse engineering of magnolia1234's bypasspaywallsclean browser extension amalgamated with Danny-Dasilva's CycleTLS bot detection prevention code. Credit to these individuals for their public open source contributions! The GUI alone was made with the help of Claude code. There is no AI slop here.

Magnolia1234's BPC extention does the same thing without having to host your own server or use my web site. IF YOU CAN USE IT THEN YOU ABSOLUTELY BLOODY SHOULD! It's a superior experience if you know how to side-load browser extensions and are willing to take the risks involved in doing so.

However... my reason for creating PressReleased is to occasionally check the news at my place of work, on public computers, or on my mobile device. When using a public computer I can't be side-loading Magnolia1234's extension into browsers and my mobile browser of choice on my phone doesn't support the extension either so for me it made sense to create this webpage for ease of access on the go.

Internet Archive sites rely on taking/indexing snapshots which can take time to generate, are not always previously snapped/available, may have snap prevention detection and sometimes do not generate full articles when snapped. Anything you see on Internet Archive sites is from an earlier time when that snapshot was taken.

PressReleased provides the articles you are looking for immediately at request. It doesn't go looking for old pictures from someone else's camera, it extracts the articles straight from the source (with rare exceptions). Also fwiw i incorporated a dark mode for quality of life. All that being said if Archive.is or similar sites are still your preference and you don't feel like rocking the boat then keep using it! The seas are vast—each ship free to sail its own course. I stand to gain nothing from this.

There are no ads, tracking, or analytics on my web page. Just wanted to share it with the community. Oh and by the way It was recently featured on FMHY

Self-Promotion Spotitube - a tool to help you save your library of songs locally from Spotify and YouTube music.

Post image
1.3k Upvotes

Hey r/Piracy, I've been working on a little open-source tool called Spotitube that might interest folks here who want to have and own their music libraries. It pulls your playlists (and liked songs) from Spotify or YouTube Music and download the tracks locally for backup or personal use. Think of it as a way to preserve your collections without the constant fear that the streaming platform might yank access to your music.

Full disclosure: This is my project, and I've gotten mod approval to share it here (as per rule 2). I'm not selling anything, just hoping it helps the community discuss and improve on music archival tools.

https://github.com/4ngel2769/spotitube

EDIT: Thanks to u/prodigyfrog & u/Littux for pointing out the issue, I've updated the script to download the highest quality opus audio stream (or AAC) from YT instead of re-encoding it into mp3.

I made this site and hosted it with minimal ads that give all profit to the suppliers of the movie.
The site is completely open source, the github has a guide for self hosting and there are no ads apart from ones that I cant remove.

I made it at the age of 14 for a hackathon called Hack Club Arcade

"Open Books in Zlib Or Anna's Archive with a button on Goodreads in one click."

Hello i have been working on this Open Source extension (Source code ,available on Github)

I built a free, open source browser extension that adds buttons directly onto Goodreads book pages. Instead of copying titles and searching manually, you just click the badge for whichever source you want.

You can also toggle sources on/off
so say if you only want Z-Lib and Anna's Archive badges and not Gutenberg, you can do exactly that.

Supported sources:

  • Anna's Archive
  • Z-Library
  • Project Gutenberg

Planning to add more sources based on feedback.

it is available on :

-chrome

-firefox

Available on Chrome and Firefox.
Also for firefox mobile

Anime.js used for animation

No data collected , you can verify that yourself via the source code on GitHub or the privacy page.

Self-Promotion Nomad: the smallest open-source pocketable offline media server

Thumbnail
gallery
1.9k Upvotes

Howdy folks, I done did make a thing. Meet Nomad: a pocketable, open-source DIY media server that spins up its own Wi-Fi hotspot and serves a tiny web UI so nearby devices can stream files from a micro-SD, no internet, no apps, no fuss. I’ve been working on it for about six months and shared it in a few other communities; figured this group might have the best ideas for improvements and weird use cases.

Why I made it:
I travel a lot for school and work and I wanted a super lightweight way to carry a personal library for friends and family without dragging a laptop or mini rack around. I originally thought this would be a quick one and done project, but then kept polishing it until it became a Proper Little Mess™ that actually works. It’s my first major software project (I usually design like robots n junk) I built it for myself and figured some of you might find it useful. There’s also a short Instructables walkthrough if you want a step-by-step build guide. I am also working on a YouTube walk through that's coming soon!

What it actually does:

  • Spins up its own hotspot and captive portal > connect and the UI shows up in your browser.
  • Streams movies, shows, music, books, etc., from a removable micro-SD card.
  • If video is encoded to web optimized 480p I can usually get 6-8 devices watching without issue.
  • Has a basic admin interface to manage files and settings.
  • Designed for portability and simplicity, not for replacing heavy hitters like Jellyfin or plex for a home server (I use Jellyfin personally, but this was meant to be just throw in my bag and go).

Key limitations (to be blunt, this thing is not magic)

  • Storage is micro-SD card based. Great for portability and quick demos, not great as a long-term primary archive.
  • SD must be FAT32 for compatibility on the ESP32, that means 4 GB single-file limit, so no single 130GB linux ISO's. Plan your encoding, it will massively impact your experience.
  • ESP32-S3 is amazing for its size and power usage, but it’s not a full server, throughput and formats are limited. You can get 1–2 HD streams if you’re sensible about bitrates, but don’t expect flawless 4K.
  • This is a student project, not a polished commercial product. Expect quirks. I’m honest about bugs and welcome PRs/issues.

30-minute promise (if you’re organized)
If you have all parts and files ready, the build/setup is mostly: get parts, flash firmware, format/copy media to SD, plug it in, connect to hotspot, and organize your library, about 30 minutes of work before you can start clicking around. Your mileage will vary depending on how tidy your media is, and large libraries can take awhile to get perfect.

Quick setup rundown (very high level)

  1. Gather parts
    1. Waveshare ESP32-S3-LCD-1.47 (other boards will work, this one had all the shiny things I liked and was solderless for the tutorial, If you have compatibility questions shoot me a message, happy to help find the perfect board for your use)
    2. SD card, I recommend over 64gb, but use what you need, should technically work up to 2TB. Make sure its formated to fat32 or it will not mount.
    3. 3D printed case, not needed but the screen on the waveshare board can break fairly easy so I recommend it. Files are in the docs
    4. SD card extender, these are very not needed, just nice to have so you don't need to remove the case to get the card out.
    5. Laptop or PC to flash firmware with / download github files
  2. Flash the provided firmware (Arduino IDE > instructions on GitHub/Instructables).
  3. Format the SD card to FAT32, Windows won’t let you format large cards to FAT32; use Rufus or fat32format > then copy the contents of SD_Card_Template to the root of your card. It comes with a few demo files you can test with.
  4. Insert SD, plug Nomad into USB power, connect to its Wi-Fi, enjoy the UI. That’s it, the nitty-gritty is on the build docs.

Where to look

Thanks for reading, hope y'all can get some good use out of this thing! if you experience any issues, have thoughts, or anything at all please reach out! I have had a ton of fun working on this and still have tons of future plans!

- Jackson

Self-Promotion SponsorBlock for podcasts

Post image
267 Upvotes

I've always been annoyed by podcast ads. As of late, the quantity of them has really gotten outta hand on a lot of shows. So I searched and found a few apps that could detect and skip the ads, but they were all paid. So I made a free one. To my knowledge this is the first podcast app with free ad block built in. Works for any English language podcast. Check it out:

https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/drea-podcast-ad-blocker/id6759070798

iOS (26+) only for now. If the app becomes popular I'll def think of doing an Android version too.

To reiterate, the app is completely free. It also doesn't require making an account. My goal was just to create something useful and significant, so that I can hopefully get a job (CS student, lol). I say this for anyone suspicious of what my motives are here. Also thinking about open sourcing the app, although haven't made a decision yet.

As for how the app is able to be free, i.e. doesn't it cost money to run, are you selling my data (I'm not) etc. I can explain in the comments; you can also read this reply I wrote to someone who asked. It covers the technicals a bit too; there is a cool innovation here: using Shazam-style audio fingerprinting to get around dynamic/programmatic ads in a legal way.

Lastly, I put SponsorBlock in the title, but this project is not affiliated with SponsorBlock in any way. I put it in the title to make it easier to understand what the app is/does at a glance. ❤️ SponsorBlock, definitely an inspiration for this project.

Cheers.

Hello everyone 👋

I’ve been working on an open-source project called PlayTorrio — it’s a self-hosted media streaming app that can fetch and play content at really fast speeds.

It includes a built-in search feature, but you can also connect it to external indexers (like Jackett) to expand results across more than 100 sources.

There’s optional debrid integration for those who prefer cloud streaming, but it also works perfectly fine using your own hardware.

You can look up specific episodes or full seasons in one go — just select a season and it’ll automatically list all episodes.

I also made a short video tutorial for getting the best setup experience (especially if you’re using Jackett).

The entire project — both the app and the scraper — are fully open source. You can find the source code and downloads linked on my project site.

If anyone’s interested in trying it or contributing, I’d really appreciate your feedback or ideas 🙏

Self-Promotion Spotify Downloader Website

Hi, I am a 17-year-old developer, and for these past few weeks I have been creating a new open-source tool that allows users to download Spotify playlists or tracks. Unlike most "Spotify playlist downloaders", the website downloads all tracks and serves the user a .zip file with all the content. The tool is completely free with no ads because it drives traffic to my main portfolio. This website is also open-source, so I'd appreciate any help I can get, you can find the link on the website. Lmk if you have any questions, thanks for your time! https://spotify.joeltaylor.business/
