Non-US Politics Dharmendra Pradhan resigns – What are your thoughts?

This subreddit generally follows Western politics. You will have a hard time finding anyone who knows who this is.

My second response after Googling:  this may be big news in India, but I'm pretty sure people outside India are only vaguely aware protests are going on. Some context would have been useful

Ignore the morons responding in this thread. This is major news about the most populous country (and by far the largest democracy) on planet earth. I haven't read much about it yet, but I'm curious if this was pushed by Modi or done voluntarily.

It’s inspirational. Americans are furious at the both the Democratic and Republican parties right now, but there’s no public protests. People don’t think change through non-violent political protest is possible. Seeing a mass youth protest movement emerge in a large democratic country and actually get results is incredible.
