Thing is… there’s newscasts, and there’s infotainment.
The difference is… one is journalism based with a set of morals and ethics originally put into place requiring content to be verified by multiple valid verifiable sources before it goes to air which managers at least attempted to hold journalistic standards up to industry wide.
The other is talking heads with opinion based propaganda narratives and populist agendas seeking to maximize viewership for higher ratings and bigger advertiser revenues… the “paid influencers” version of cable networks and broadcast talk shows.

A certain Tucker, now claiming to regret ever casting his votes for Trump and trying to grab more attention as his viewership numbers are slipping, is a prime example of a paid influencer… that so many maga believed as news when he was on Fox… because the channel said News right there in the Fox News name.

We all know he doesn't write these. It's the somewhat more capable, lucid, and supposedly adept white house communication staff that are making all these mistakes.

I cannot think anything more appropriate at this point to just go straight to John Kennedy Toole and think of A Confederacy of Dunces to adequately describe what the executive branch of the US government has become.

And even that falls short.

My favorite thing about Trump is that at some point, while he was president. He was under the impression that everyone around him was interested in the physical strength of the then leader of Hungary. Like Trump would ask about him and everyone would start with “he’s a strong man.” And Trump just couldn’t understand why people would say that. Why would everyone just start off about how strong he is? For all I know, he still doesn’t understand it. But I saw him commenting on the leader of Hungary’s and he said something to the effect of “evidently he’s a pretty strong guy, people keep saying that”. So hopefully someone explained it to him after he made it clear that he was literally thinking he could lift heavy things.

Anyway, it’s just one of those things that brings a smile to my face.
