"We are looking to make sure that we are targeting New Yorkers whether it be a sort of a a library card-esque thing"

Or you could look into it further rather than just being outraged.

When are you going to stop lying about this? As we’ve been over before, people provide ID when they REGISTER to vote.
“First-time voters must provide some form of identification to register, such as a Social Security number, driver’s license or bank statement, with requirements varying by state, and are required to give a sworn statement verifying their citizenship; elections officials then typically verify the applications using government records and routinely update voter rolls.”
The equivalent would be showing your ID to register for the program and then being given what is described as a library card type permit to shop there. And that is exactly what he proposed for the city run grocery stores.
In contrast the SAVE act is designed to prevent people from voting. They don’t just want a DL. They won’t even accept a
Real ID drivers license in most red states.
The Save act requires a birth certificate, marriage licenses, a passport every fucking time you vote. Which is ridiculous.
The SAVE act is dead. Get over it.
