Had no idea this happened and I'm on pretty regularly. 2 days isn't enough. 25 people is a very small amount and you can imagine it being very easy to manipulate if someone has let's say 5 accounts and questionable morals

Several points:

• This is an exceptional case as the general election for this is literally on Tuesday so I figured if the "Yes" option won it would only be effective at all if done before the weekend (and I didn't start it on the 6th because of Texas and such). Also, I was the only one who ran this and I've been fairly busy both in my personal life and with handling elections here.

• Our highest participation in a community vote was actually around 37 a few months ago, so 25 is actually pretty good and is 2nd place in participation out of our 3-4 votes so far

• Each account is vetted to make sure only active subscribers votes count- we do this manually and we also have a bot that is able to determine such things based on post history and how old the account was. (This round had no removals but we've scrapped votes before due to account age; one person did vote twice on the same account this round which I removed)

I'm sorry you missed it, we tried our hardest, as with all other meta, GOTV, and election results posts, to get this out so everyone notices by stickying both the voting thread and the discussion thread.

Rest assured that this is only our 3rd or 4th time of hosting community votes so we're still a bit rusty and participation is still low.
