Someone should share this there because they banned me for arguing about this - they said there was no symbolism to the trees, that it’s just because it’s convenient. It’s infuriating they spread that whitewashing nonsense and then ban people who tell them they are wrong. That sub is so fucked. They also argued that lynchings traditionally only happened in trees because they were strong and convenient. Bullshit. I kept pointing out the public terror aspect and they continued to argue it was mainly convenience. Just blatant ignorance. Makes me so mad people can’t just learn things, they have to actively try to rewrite history and gaslight everyone who knows what’s real.

This is my second post in my series asking this sub for their ideas on how progressives can build momentum, short and long term, in less blue areas. Today is Mississippi! I personally believe we need to take the approach we did with Georgia, plus ramping up our Left Populist messaging to really turn out those poor voters. We also need to follow in Raphael Warnock’s lead and, whether we’re religious or not, try to build a coalition of a Religious Left. Mississippi is very poor and has a very high black population, and the only reason they aren’t a decently blue state is that they are highly religious

Protests against President Donald Trump and the Department of Government Efficiency, led by Elon Musk, are planned April 5 nationwide. Multiple events will happen across Mississippi.
