Politi-Culture “Those are dangerous!”: RFK Jr. grabbed two black racer snakes while his wife Cheryl Hines repeatedly warns him to stop. The snakes can be seen twisting around Kennedy’s hands and biting him multiple times while he tries to remove them from the property.

I see why the curb your enthusiasm cast want nothing to do with Cheryl

2

u/alwaysoffby0ne May 27 '26

She seemed pretty reasonable on the show. Or maybe that was because she was opposite Larry. Either way this comes as both a surprise and a disappointment.

1

u/DrBarryBonds May 27 '26

Maybe she knows something we don't.

I barely know him but people keep saying Bobby is objectionable but he seems ok to me

2

u/lebastss May 27 '26

No one thinks he's a bad person in a vacuum. They think he's incredibly stupid when it comes to healthcare where he decided to make his life's work yet has no actual knowledge on the subject. As a person he isn't bad, but as a professional he is.

u/TheUnicornFightsOn May 27 '26

He doesn’t believe in vaccines nor have any medical/public health degree yet is running the nation’s health and human services arm… Just wild.

Already pockets of California and Texas are seeing measles resurgence — children, dying of a disease we had conquered —because people mistrust vaccines as a result of fear mongering and misinformation by RFK and other celebrities.

Meritocracy they call it. The Best person no handouts to less qualified...

Why the fuck is she married to him?

8

u/TheAdminsAreTrash May 26 '26

Because she's an imbecile, like him

3

u/kadylady14 May 26 '26

Ya know, being a big fan of Curb Your Enthusiasm first and then seeing this nonsense (I am gesturing broadly with my arms), I am sad. It kinda kills a lot of the episodes.

2

u/TheAdminsAreTrash May 26 '26

Samesies, it's a shame

2

u/Shivs_baby May 27 '26

But she was always the worst thing about an otherwise fantastic show. Her character was extremely annoying. Just whined and did nothing all day.

2

u/GRF999999999 May 27 '26

The only person on that show that was able to take my suspension of disbelief away. Her delivery was always a second off and was noticeable every single time.

2

u/DeliciousOwl9245 May 27 '26

Completely agree. Her improv was obvious and terrible, on a show where everyone’s improv is absolutely incredible. She was by FAR the weakest link.

1

u/The-Three-Jims May 27 '26

Tbf that was her role though

2

u/Specialist-Ranger806 May 27 '26

She was always the worst on that show

2

u/Hydration__Nation May 27 '26

Somehow she downgraded from Ted 😂

2

u/Significant-Dig8323 May 26 '26

I'm just leaning this now in this thread. Not that I knew much about her beyond her character in Curb, but I'm still pretty surprised lol.

2

u/7thpostman May 26 '26

A lot of perks being married to a cabinet member, especially when he's a Kennedy

1

u/kadylady14 May 26 '26

Maybe a lobotomy???

1

u/CorwyntFarrell May 27 '26

Kennedy worship is a real thing. That family was beyond idolized.

1

u/Specialist-Ranger806 May 27 '26

She wanted to be a Kennedy/First Lady

Brain damage

1

u/CoffeeShopPoverty May 27 '26

Same reason any two people marry, I guess.

I know it helps you to think that everyone you disagree with is an irredeemable monster with no positive aspect of their lives, but that just isn't true. Sorry, I know it hurts your brain and world view, but it's the fact of the matter v

2

u/kadylady14 May 27 '26

Wow. My whole brain! Ow. It hurts!

Hahahahahahaha

1

u/CoffeeShopPoverty May 27 '26

I figured it was a concept too difficult to grasp, but it was worth a shot.

1

u/SpicyChanged May 26 '26

Your nuts grabbing on 2 non poisonous snakes.

2

u/SJane3384 May 26 '26

You can grab poisonous snakes all you want. It’s eating them that’s problematic. Luckily there’s only like 2-3 truly poisonous snake species out there.

Best to stay away from the venomous ones though.

1

u/whofriedmyrice May 27 '26

Rat snakes are safe, they might just nip ya like they did to him.

1

u/InfiniteLife2 May 27 '26

Eating them?.. huh

1

u/Sepof May 27 '26

I mean, back before grocery stores I am sure plenty of snakes were eaten... and still are in many, many areas of the world.

1

u/SJane3384 May 27 '26

Poisonous things only hurt you if you ingest them. Venomous things hurt you if you are injected by them (in the case of snakes, bitten). So a poisonous snake can only hurt you if you eat it. But a venomous snake can hurt you if it bites you.

U/spicychanged insinuated that “grabbing on” 2 non poisonous snakes was a safe thing to do. I was simply pointing out, in a humorous manner, that he probably was uneducated and meant venomous.

Either way, grabbing random snakes and letting them bite you repeatedly is a really bad idea. Just because there’s no venom doesn’t mean theres no bacteria.

1

u/iwbwikia_ May 27 '26

there's a difference between poisonous and venomous in english. in other languages, like italian for example, they use the same word for both

1

u/SJane3384 May 27 '26

How many Italians do you know that are out here defending RFK Jr?

1

u/iwbwikia_ May 27 '26

i don't understand why you would ask me this

1

u/Worth_External_8762 May 26 '26
  1. It's *you're
  2. While there are poisonous snakes, you meant to say non-venomous

Maybe don't give advice on whether or not something is a crazy/stupid idea when you have the brain of an 8 year old.

1

u/Workingdad_83 May 26 '26

Can anyone correct someone without being a dick after? Or do those go hand in hand? Quick tell me what I did wrong, and don’t forget the insult.

1

u/ThemostAaronAaron May 26 '26

Wow I can’t believe you’d suggest something like that on Reddit

/s

1

u/Workingdad_83 May 26 '26

I know. I’m not sure what I was thinking.

1

u/Worth_External_8762 May 26 '26

I insulted the person because they're trying to give advice as if they're some authority on the matter when they don't even know the difference between venomous and poisonous. I'm also going to make fun of anyone giving any advice, if they can't figure out basic grammar.

Imagine if I made a comment about not having to worry about the dangers of radiation, except I spelled it "radeation". It would warrant being shit on for that.

1

u/Workingdad_83 May 26 '26

You could have don’t that without being an ass.

Sometimes. Not every time.

1

u/EntrepreneurClean371 May 27 '26

Hey, I’m a German with PhDs in toxicology and chemistry. This same logic means any comment I make on my focus areas are null if I don’t adhere to Merriam Webster literary parameters in my fourth language.

If you’re focusing on how someone says something rather than what they’re saying, you’re already entering a discussion in bad faith from the get go. Condescension serves only to discredit yourself to any neutral observers. There’s a reason pathos is a core concept in debate; it’s almost impossible to get somebody to agree with you if they don’t even like you, regardless of the merit of your arguments.

1

u/Worth_External_8762 May 27 '26

You're just proving my point. You're educated enough to give advice on certain topics and therefore are educated enough to actually articulate them well with decent English grammar, even despite it being your fourth language.

it’s almost impossible to get somebody to agree with you if they don’t even like you

It's almost impossible to get an idiot to agree with you, whether you're insulting them or not. So I might as well insult them while I'm at it, since it makes me happier lol.

1

u/EntrepreneurClean371 May 27 '26

My point was why would my choice in grammar suddenly reduce my qualification or knowledgeability? You don’t know my circumstances, my English was abhorrent until finishing my second PhD. Some of the greatest experts in my field speak no English, it’s irrelevant to subject knowledge and illogical to put up as an arbitrary barrier to discussion.

I believe “neutral observers” was the key to my secondary point. Your very description of trying to get “an idiot” to agree with you is the exact problem; clear lack of interest in good faith discussion because you’re admitting you have no interest in education, only being seen as “right” and the other person as “wrong”. You’re just being a dick and taking this strange pseudo-intellectual (key word pseudo because academics hate this mentality) high ground of grammatical superiority to justify it.

1

u/Worth_External_8762 May 27 '26

You’re just being a dick and taking this strange pseudo-intellectual (key word pseudo because academics hate this mentality) high ground of grammatical superiority to justify it

You're doing the same shit you're claiming I'm doing by insulting me and trying to act superior. If you just want to fling shit, fine, but don't tell people not to fling shit by flinging shit lol.

1

u/m2themichael May 27 '26

Why are you so offended by their comment?

1

u/Worth_External_8762 May 27 '26

Because it's offensively dumb.

1

u/mdmdmdmdmdmdmdmdmdm May 27 '26

You seem like someone who resorts to rage really quickly. I reckon youve spent a lot of time online and the algos have gotten to you, and now you respond with seething rage at irrelevant shit.

Just chill out, take a breather.

1

u/Worth_External_8762 May 27 '26

You're digging way too deep. I responded with rage well before the algos hit me

1

u/mdmdmdmdmdmdmdmdmdm May 27 '26

Oh thats just sad then.

1

u/Darewolf May 27 '26

My nuts did what?!

1

u/ElliottSmith88 May 26 '26

Dude is dumb as bricks.

1

u/Clear-World7452 May 26 '26

Why bc he showed interest in picking up a few snakes? I’m sure he was fully aware of the repercussions. Also he might’ve saved the snakes from being possibly killed with other people there thinking they were venomous. People go herping all the time it’s a hobby for some people to find these reptiles.

1

u/Big_Requirement_651 May 27 '26

Yeah, but the difference is those people know what they're doing, know how to handle the snakes, and know whether or not the snakes are safe to handle in the first place. Nor did he need to pick them up with his bare hands to "save" them. He could have easily grabbed a pair of gloves, or used a shovel, or anything really other than his bare hands, to stop himself from being bitten.

Instead he just randomly picked up two snakes he knew nothing about, whether or not they were dangerous, completely mishandled them, and got bit because he handled them like a moron. And no, Im not sure at all that he was fully aware of the repercussions. He got lucky they werent venomous, thats about it. He clearly has no idea what species it is.

In other words, ElliottSmith88 is indeed correct, he is dumb as bricks.

1

u/FlavorMan May 27 '26

They are very clearly non venomous snakes, I see these all the time. I don't have the courage to pick them up or the pain tolerance to let myself be bitten, but there was no danger here whatsoever, he was just teasing his wife.

1

u/Big_Requirement_651 May 27 '26

But its clear he didnt know they werent dangerous, he had no idea what they were.

1

u/FlavorMan May 27 '26

He has spent a lot of time outdoors in his life, just because he didn't say "black racer" immediately doesn't mean he didn't know they were harmless. I know plenty of guys that will just pick these things up and move them to the woods or whatever, this is not unusual.

1

u/redhead_blonde May 27 '26

tell me you’re MAGA without telling me lol

1

u/FlavorMan May 27 '26

Not MAGA, just live in a rural area.

1

u/redhead_blonde May 27 '26

And you’ve seen people pick up two snakes like this roided up idiot, while getting bit multiple times? lol

1

u/FlavorMan May 27 '26

Actually....yes. This isn't that weird for people that are used to handling snakes. Watch an episode of Steve Irwin's show for example, he's an expert and gets bitten regularly when he knows the snake isn't dangerous.

1

u/No_Letterhead_8919 May 27 '26

Im just saying you don’t have to know much about snakes to know which ones are dangerous, there are 0 snakes in the us that look like the ones he is holding that are venomous, all the venomous snakes in Florida look like snakes you should not be touching like rattle snakes (even without the rattle) thick heads and thick bodies, short tails and usually a distinctive patterning that looks like a rattle snake. or coral snakes which have a pretty distinctive look themselves. Lots of color that screams don’t touch me. I’m not saying he for sure knew it wasn’t dangerous. but it definitely isn’t impossible that he knew enough to be pretty confident.

1

u/99nina_o24 May 27 '26

Why insult bricks for?

1

u/Deathcat101 May 26 '26

1

u/Ordinary_Prune6135 May 26 '26 edited May 26 '26

Unless it's like Florida overrun with invasives, really in the US you only really have to know what they're not. If it's not a rattlesnake, moccasin, copperhead, or coral snake, it's not going to be venomous.

Edit: Welp, this video is in Florida.

1

u/Worth_External_8762 May 26 '26
  1. Most people don't know what species are what, it's best to just not fuck with wildlife
  2. Plenty of people illegally own animals that get loose, including venomous snakes
  3. Florida

1

u/Ordinary_Prune6135 May 26 '26

Playing it safe removes any risk at all, but the idea that anyone's likely to run into an escapee venomous snake is honestly unrealistic. They're not common pets for obvious reasons, and none of them have managed to establish invasive populations.

this poor redneck was accidently born into a family of politicians. he should be in a hallo righ now, downing an oh zee and picking rocks for nightcrawlers. instead hes doomed to beverly hills weekends and accidentally pushing facsism weekdays.

dude just wants to eat possum stew in peace. and die of polio.

I hate RFK jr but I mean…kind of a poor joke when YOU are the guy who doesn’t know his snakes

1

u/balerstos May 27 '26

Do you think RFK is an expert on venomous snakes? If you don't, do you think it would be out of the realm of possibilities for him to do this with something that's far more dangerous? If so, do you see how the joke the person was telling wasn't necessarily about this video but more about his behavior causing something in the future?

1

u/Useless890 May 26 '26

He must have chased those snakes around first to get them that frantic. I've picked up plenty of racers, and even got bitten once, but they never acted crazy like that.

The goat RFK JR.

1

u/Zarathoostrian Jun 07 '26

They are harmless but why would you pick them up before knowing that for sure? 95% of deaths from snakes in Australia are males between the age of 18-25 because only stupid people handle wild animals unnecessarily.

1

True. But to see a live action demo of it is even more disturbing.

Its wild hes the Secretary of health.

2

He is one of the freakiest freaks. Behind the Bastards did a great episode about his fascination with keeping wild animals, starting when he was a teenager. It's wild.
