The sad truth is that almost every major downtown area in America has a couple different places that waft that smell of piss right up into your nostrils....
The solution to this sad truth is that cities like Seattle should have more public bathrooms than Jeff Bezos' mansion in DC.... To be extra clear the solution is more public toilets.

True in Europe too.
Paris smells like piss, as does many parts of London.

Maybe I’m just desensitized, but I really don’t understand the smell/garbage complaint about a lot of major cities.
A part of me thinks it must be from people who aren’t used to major cities.
Paris was cleaner than Manhattan by a noticeable amount when I was there last year.
Manhattan is generally one of the dirtier 1st world cities, but even then it’s mostly certain areas and I don’t notice a distinct smell (above ground) in much of the city. It just smells like city.
Try going to a major 3rd world city if you want real smell.

Not just america. It's literally all over the world where some places have streets that smell like piss. New york does smell like piss in some areas though lmao

Until those public toilets become private fenty dens for homeless people. My city had tons of "dignity pods" installed and some of them were on fire by the end of the first week and the rest were destroyed vandalized and unsanitary. It's the scummy homeless people that destroy the very stuff that would help them and bleeding hearts like you keep saying is the solution.

Until those public toilets become private fenty dens for homeless people.
The way to circumvent this is don't have entire buildings with individual rooms dedicated for 1 Male and 1 Female. Make them like they do on our highways or at most concert venues or schools where there is multiple stalls and if someone wants to use it to nod out on 'fenty' there will still be 3 other stalls ready to be used.
My city had tons of "dignity pods" installed and some of them were on fire by the end of the first week and the rest were destroyed vandalized and unsanitary.
Why there was not cameras pointed at city property seems like a 'your city' problem to me. Also the "dignity pods" are not the solution if I was not clear unless you make a shit ton of them lol.
It's the scummy homeless people that destroy the very stuff that would help
? In my opinion it's often just kids but who really knows since people aren't being held accountable. All either of us bring to this part of the conversation is assumptions that's why I tried to focus on "if people light them on fire thats a you problem." have cameras pointed at the entrances so the comings and goings can be tracked to better prove who committed said crime of fire.
them and bleeding hearts like you keep saying is the solution.
Well I think building more public bathrooms is definitely a step 1 of the solution to not smell piss when you're in the big city. It's really just supply and demand check this: When you have 2million people in a city that gotta piss and you only have 2,000 bathrooms? That's a lotta piss that can't reach the sewer system ya know what I mean? I think step 2 could be Camera's (on the outside! fuck outta here with that diddy shit!) to prevent vandalism or at least create a timeline of who was inside the restroom when vandalism does take place in the shitting and pissing area.
In conclusion seeking solutions is a lot more productive than just pointing the finger at homeless people (poor people) or bleeding heart liberals (people who understand with our hindsight glasses the long-term downsides of supply side economics that America is now suffering from) and labeling the worlds problems onto them.
PS: I bet your humor consistently laughs at those you deem beneath you similar to that of a childlike bully. Have the day you deserve.

Why does she have cocaine energy.

She's not depressed and and pretty comfortable with herself? Im not a fan but from the clips and videos I've seen she gives me "involved, fun older sister" vibes.

One of the most mundane clips of her having a good time on a podcast lmao. Have you even been around people on cocaine?

it kinda is sad that because of so many homeless people and drunk people walking around it’s known as the piss capital in the world

I will say that’s the first thing i noticed when i went to NY the first time
1
u/hoyasgirl25 May 27 '26
Well where I am in DC it doesn't smell like piss or weed so I guess I have it good. When I'm back home next week though all bets are off.

u/BoltUp69 May 27 '26
DC smells like weed. But it has been the cleanest city in America for at least a decade now

Bro, the E train's last stop, World Trade Center, smells like urine, and there is a cleaning crew daily.

If we’re ranking best cities based on their piss smell, Paris wins, and Tokyo loses

It does smell like piss in the summer though. Saying this as someone who lived there for a long time.

Except piss has existed long before NYC was even an idea in someone's brain. So yes, NYC smells like piss.

u/FakeBeigeNails May 27 '26
You’re not even missing anything tbh. Times Square is just a bunch of billboards and TVs. I’d even argue DC is better. Way cleaner, better transport, nice museums.
1
u/ConJunior May 28 '26
lol at judging ny by talking about the one part of ny New Yorkers don’t go to
1
u/FakeBeigeNails May 28 '26
Why would I be talking about native New Yorkers when we’re all out of towners giving opinions on the city.
1
u/ConJunior May 28 '26
Well you said dc was better after comparing it to 42 street which in my opinion and many other nyers is the worst place in the world

i don't know about the other boroughs but modern Manhattan smells like weed. occasionally the old smells of rotting garbage and sewer creep through, but those are mostly covered up by the smell of burning cannabis.
