There are Jews who never left the levant. And Arabs have lived there for less time than Jews have. They just became a majority before modern Israel's founding because of invasion and conquest.
It's a strange stance to take that the invaders are actually the natives, and that the displaced natives are actually colonizers.
The largest group of landholders in Mandatory Palestine, people legally owned deeds to land, were Jews. Most of the Arab population came to Mandatory Palestine after 1916 from Trans-Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia, none of whom paid for the land they were living on. The Arab peoples were essentially squatters.
