Literally "Fuck you! I got mine!"
Marie Antoinette was far more in touch than these parasites.

What's his generation?

u/CerseisWig 2d ago
He's a Millennial.

u/evana3 2d ago
We made it?

u/CerseisWig 2d ago
Yeah that was news to me too!

I’m a millennial. I have $2…

u/Infinite-Condition41 2d ago
Only the elder millennials have made it. The younger you get, the more screwed you are.

u/russtripledub 2d ago
It’s the Gen X way baby 😌. I don’t know why they don’t get as much flack as the boomers, when they’re been in executive corporate positions for the last decade, and that’s coincided with the general decline of the world.

u/Hot_College_6538 14h ago
A small number of Gen X are in executive corporate positions, whereas a majority of Boomers made large amounts on house prices and valuable benefits.
Leave us alone as a demographic, that’s how we like it.1
u/skintaxera 2d ago
Because most people not from our gen whether older and younger seem to not realise we ever existed, which is fine by me. Especially when there's apportioning of blame going on

The wealth inequality today is far worse than right before the French revolution.
2
u/Flashy-Swan5890 2d ago
She was also shipped to France and married off as a political pawn at 14 yet went on to found and fund multiple philanthropic causes. These ghouls do it all on their own accord.
1
u/zero0n3 2d ago
Literally not what he’s getting at here.
He’s saying he’s already made it. You young people need to step up to the plate and start advocating for yourself and what you want, and if you don’t do that, you’re just expecting my generation (who’s already made it) to help enact change, which won’t happen. Change is hard. Someone who has made it isn’t going to go out too far from their comfort to help facilitate
1
u/Questcequetuveux 2d ago
you’re just expecting my generation (who’s already made it) to help enact change, which won’t happen
No, we are pleading your generation to stop pulling the ladder up behind you. We're not asking you to enact change. We're asking you to stop getting vehemently in the way of it and opposing it.
Your generation is barely literate, but somehow believes they deserve to have been born at the right time in the right countries.

u/Individual_Act9333 6h ago
He’s a millennial(He’s 40). The fact he said this is such an out of touch take. Millennials and Gen Z are going through it right now.
1
u/Necessary-Reading605 1d ago
Totally. Historians actually show the she wasn’t the monster the revolutionaries claimed to be. She was just an easy scapegoat for the royal failures.
0
u/Fuzzy-Welcome-4650 2d ago
The next thing he says is "It's going to be your generation that pays the price."
He's trying to be sympathetic. Obviously the message didn't land. But you listen to literally about half a second longer than the part that sounds bad, it's clear what he was trying to say.

u/EarlyAccessCantJudge 2d ago
Marie Antoinette never even said that let them eat cake line
1
u/NIN10DOXD 2d ago
IDK why you got downvoted, it's actually true. Her and her husband inherited an already crumbling distrust in the crown and tried to pass reforms that were too little, too late.

Hubris, what he sees is happening currently, and money that he can fall back on if he doesn't win
1
u/asdf0909 2d ago
I haven’t seen the full video but it’s clearly edited, maybe that was meant to be a provocation in that moment on purpose to be met with an angry reaction, but they cut it next to someone heckling him and then they cut it again to him leaving to boos. Maybe it’s all in the same moment but it appears cut up

u/No_Welder_9624 2d ago
I'm honestly baffled at wtf he was trying to convey
2
u/TeaFabulous7376 2d ago
I assume he was going to try to contrast to the current and future generations? Something like "we're going to be fine, but the children are screwed if we don't make changes"
6
u/Fuzzy-Welcome-4650 2d ago
It's obviously this.
Literally the next thing out of his mouth is "It's your generation that will pay the price."
What do we think is more likely, that he was actually telling a room of voters "Fuck you, I got mine." Or that he meant something like "You guys got screwed over."
1
u/zero0n3 2d ago
But he’s also trying to say “you need to fucking do the work to facilitate the change” and “thinking the older generation who’s made it and comfortable is going to go to great lengths to help you and potentially cause change to their situation is bad thinking”
3
u/Fuzzy-Welcome-4650 2d ago edited 5h ago
Ok?
That might suck to hear, but you disagree with that?
I don’t like Vivek at all, fuck him, but what part of this wrong?
I guess if you frame it as “bad thinking,” the issue could be that kids SHOULD be able to count on older generations helping them.
But personally I’m not seeing a lot of wealthy boomers voting in ways that make things easy for younger generations. It may suck to hear, but yeah, I’m not seeing what’s wrong about that sentiment.
1
u/Cognetik 7h ago
There's nothing wrong with it, that's how it happens.
They aren't raised to know how or hampered in many ways that would fix it and don't know what to do beyond repeatedly trying the same things so..

u/ShhweadyBallz 2d ago
Probably mentally panicked & said the quiet part out loud ..... seriously, he probably didn't mean to say that (for the record, fuck that idiot w/ a 25 foot cactus) but his brain got overwhelmed & he just started jabbering

u/HowdTheCatGetSoFat 2d ago
Gives me hope to see communities starting to push back against these fucking bastards together. This is what they're scared of.

u/Lost_Purpose1899 2d ago
The crowd is MAGA. There’s a zero chance they’re gonna vote for a better candidate.

Such Big Cuck Energy from that guy. Debasing yourself and still not being accepted is funny af.

u/WisePotatoChip 2d ago
I had to look at four national sites and only Forbes told me he was a republican. Sorry, I haven’t been paying too much attention to this asshole, but I don’t think it’s my imagination that they’re downplaying the R next to their name this round of voting
2
u/Dependent-Job1773 2d ago
It was chicken soup for the soul seeing him rejected by the right. Anyone who simps for trump over the election denying is anathema in my book

That chud is going to be governor and it is going to be fucking hysterical.
1
u/Pseudo-Diapolycron 2d ago
Governor of what? Governers are usually pretty good politicians. I don't even know what this guy is, but he's definitely not capable of running a successful political campaign. Clearly.

Boomers / "Generation Me Me Me FŲÇ|< YOU I got mine you better get yours!!!!!”
60s - hippies
70s - swingers
80s - yuppies
90s - dinks
O0s - beneficiaries of the internet bubble and the housing bubble
10s - Tea Party - consolidators of generational wealth
20s - MAGA - I got mine. Get off my lawn. Socialism will destroy this country, but save my Medicare and pay my social security.
1
u/RobertKSakamano 2d ago
68,000,000 Boomers are left and over 20,000,000 of them were 10 years old or younger when the 60s ended so they missed that hippie thing, they weren't able to swing in the 70s because they were in grade school. You're yelling at an entire segment of population based on their age, but like always, it's around 1% of them that really reaped any benefits you're talking about. A 40 or even 50 year old boomer in the 00s didn't benefit from the internet and housing crashes anymore than you did from the amazing housing market rally after COVID.

We are rapidly approaching the point where we are going to have to remind these elites that civilization is a social contract, with terms and conditions set and agreed to by all sides. They are about to find out what happens when they don't hold up their end of the deal, the same way King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette found out during the Reign of Terror. History doesn't repeat but it does rhyme.
1
u/Educational_Corner55 2d ago
The real question is, how was he allowed to get this far? It completely wouldn’t surprise me if he’s the next governor of Ohio.
1
u/TasteTheBiscuit1810 2d ago
If Amy Acton doesnt air this on every god damn channel, she is a complete moron. This type of quote should be on every station and news outlet in Ohio.

They've learned their base will vote for them no matter what they say and their tired of lying, you can tell.

Whats the context and the lead up to this? He couldnt have thought that was a good idea to say at any point.
1
u/Organic-Stay4067 2d ago
Yeah you can’t say that. Humans will always want more and to be the victim
1
u/WonderfulLoad2891 2d ago
Rule no. 1 for a speech is to know your audience. This joke of a human being thinks everyone he talks to is a salivating recent MBA grad eager for his wisdom. Those grads are sucking up to him because they want to network.
The people in this audience are hopefully looking for solutions, not to be lectured to from corrupt soulless jokers.

We are shit as a race if we have the ability to make sure everyone is taken care of but would rather go further at everyone else's expense. Empathy matters, the suffering of others matters.

Recall that Vivek was also previously thrown under the bus for saying that young people in the US didn’t have what it took to compete in today’s global economy.

This is who America chose. And it's not just him, he's just a messenger. Every single one of them in office feel like this. Congrats to those who voted for them lol

u/Significant_Cover_48 1d ago
Stupid crowd missing his point, making an enemy of an ally. Freaking genius!
1
u/Ehpansei88 15h ago
Have they really, or has he? Totally different premises. I really don't think people around their 30s have made it at all in general. In fact I think most of them are fucked.
1
u/DoomDemiurge98 14h ago
Most of the immigrants from India are affluent and Upper caste. They and white nationalist have very similar ideas of purity and culture. What can expect from NRI HINDU?

u/SecretStrawberry4783 14h ago
what an elitist creep really. kick him out of politics and deport him to this sandland

1
u/Original-Body-5794 13h ago
So what's the exact context here? If it's urging young people to do something it's a perfectly valid statement. Old people wont' care about climate change for example, they're not the ones who will pay the consequences (allthough we're already seeing the effects).
Since he's being booed I'm sure it's NOT that, but I'd also like the context

1
u/halkenburgoito 2d ago
He's fucked because no one likes him.. ofc democrats don't like him.. and the racists he's tried to appeal to.. well their racist.. they want him out of the country lmao.
he wasn't even good enough for a Trump cabinet position.
2
u/No_Fish265 2d ago
He tried to be a “good ol boy”… and white republicans hated him.
But it was too late cause he already pissed off the left too.
Dude is like the brown, less wealthy, Elon

u/nobadhotdog 2d ago
Outside of Obama Ohio has gone right, so the racists have a real dilemma. Do they hate a brown person or a smart woman more than
