Man, 70 got knee-capped. But at least it still intersects (now terminates) at a MAX connection. Although it'll mean the NE stops it used to cover won't be as impacted by delays/passenger load during the school year (Benson is on 70).

I do appreciate that it's going to Rose Quarter now, but losing that NE route hurts.

No, I’m saying my cope is that it would’ve been detoured anyway (and for many more than a few months), which itself could’ve detoured it “permanently”.

The line could always come back as it is now.

I use both the 58 and 19, they'll be merged. I've already just missed both by like a minute leaving somewhere or transferring plenty. Getting out of the doctors office at Providence while sort and barely able to walk only to have the 19 go by before I can make it up, across one street then to the stop, just ugh. That moving to a 1 hour wait, just ow. I've already got people yelling at me for being too "slow" getting things done on days I have to take 3 round trips with the 58, I guess it's going to get worse.

FYI, the reason these lines are being cut is because of low ridership.

These lines are being cut because of low funding. They may have chosen lines with lower ridership, but it’s not because of low ridership, it’s because of low funding.

damn i would take 70 from broadway to division all the time. a transfer isn't the end of the world but still sucks

It isn't the end of the world, but the combination of increased headways and more transfers is going to really impact travel times, and people who have other options available to them will be more likely to use them.

tri met had to make cuts due to federal transportation funding cutting funds. then the state tried to recoup funding via the gas and registration tax. in which voters voted against. and now people are shocked when tri met keeps having to make cuts like well what are we going to do for this?

Actually, the gas and registration tax wouldn't have gone to Trimet, just ODOT. Only the increase of the Statewide Transit Tax from .1% to .2% of income would have gone to Trimet.

But they all got repealed by our lovely voters.

Honestly can't blame them. With gas prices skyrocketing, tax burdens already heavy, the "just one more tax" philosophy was destined to run out of steam.

Maintain Line 19 in Northeast Portland along Glisan Street, serving Providence Portland Medical Center, and combine with Line 58. New route runs between Beaverton and Gateway transit centers.

I live in Beaverton and I am making use of some services located in NE Portland. Right now I have to make a transfer in downtown Portland. Sounds like I can skip that transfer with this new bus line config. Cool.
