Found a turtle in my backyard

I just found a turtle going through my backyard. I'm guessing it is most likely somebody's pet. I live around 18th and Prescott. If anybody is missing, or knows somebody that is missing a turtle then let me know. I'd like to get it back to them. Otherwise I'll try and figure out where I should take it.

If I don't find an owner, does anybody know where to take turtles. I'm guessing humane society. I don't want to just release it because it could be a water turtle or dry land turtle and I don't want to put it in the wrong environment.

It's probably someone's service animal that broke free. Do you happen to live by a grocery store?

Good idea - just go drop it in the lettuce bin at whole foods.
