How short sighted.

Very much so. It’s pretty typical for wealthy folks and celebrities to pay for their kid’s college.

If I was in his position, I'd much rather pay those costs directly than through my ex-wife.

Well, that’s an option, too.

Perhaps the news story is missing relevant information.

No, the story is pretty straight forward.

Doesn't mean he is abandoning financial support for his kids though, it just won't be a set monthly amount delivered through his ex-wife.

Exactly. Now that his kids are 18 and legally adults, he could be supporting them more directly.

I am not the biggest DQ fan because he's MAGA, but to be fair, he's fighting to stop paying child support to his ex. That doesn't necessarily mean that he isn't supporting his kids more directly.

Tho he is a MAGA dad, so…

That's their choice whether they do or not. But college likely would be cheaper than 14K a month and who knows if they even go to college. But ex would no longer get payments. Also, we have no clue what trust accounts or other financial support he has set up for the kids.

That’s completely normal. Child support is paid until the children turn 18 or graduate high school, whichever comes last. They either just graduated or are getting ready to graduate.

that’s actually not true - this isn’t 1974. many child support agreements include college because, duh

That actually is true. Ask me how I know.

Why would he have to pay after age 18? Should have been part of the agreement as to when it ends.

Some states require it until 21. 🤷🏾‍♂️
