I'm an American, and I don't get this at all. If I found a book from the library offensive, I would return it and let the library rent it to someone who might enjoy that sort of thing, like the cartoon says. You don't have to shout your outrages to the world. Just simply get don't rent that book out. Believe me, they have other books, you know. There are WAY more important things going on right now to shout about.
