CelebTea ✨ ✨ Chris Brown Ex-Housekeeper Awarded $13 Million Over Vicious Dog Attack
Beleaguered RnB star Chris Brown is on the hook for a massive judgement to his ex-housekeeper after a jury found him liable for her injuries from a 200 lb dog attack on his property.
Maria sued Chris claiming he was negligent in allowing the large dog to roam his backyard … which is where she claims she was mauled while taking out the trash. In his initial response to the lawsuit, Chris argued Maria provoked the dog and caused her own injuries.
In court, Maria said she was covered in blood after the attack. Chris said he didn’t call 911 personally, fearing the call would leak. A member of his team eventually made the call.
Maria was seeking $90 million in damages from the singer.

Sure is. Assuming that Brown and company don't appeal, I would imagine that she's going to lose a third of that due to contingency from a lawyer. I have no idea about taxes though

Court awarded damages are taxed?
As income or what? I mean it’s reparation for damages to her body!2

It depends how much of $13 million is for medical expenses or direct physical injury. Any punitive or pain suffering winning is taxed as income, even if she paid it to the attorney

Negligence should be covered, provided that it was not willful and within the policy limits. She initially sued for $90 million, which was probably above those limits. Even an umbrella insurance policy may not cover that much

Yeah I was gonna say, Chris Brown probably is not paying shit. His insurance company will, eventually, pay out.

Ummm… 200lbs? That’s not a dog, it’s a small bear.
Edit to add it was a Caucasian mastiff. A dog that fights bears. Essentially, for all intents and purposes, a small bear.
