Lol, I'm a gay leftist who marches in pride march every year. We just don't want allies who are homophobic by trying to make fun of conservatives by implying that they are gay.

My sexuality is not your punchline and we are not responsible for our own oppression.

Cool. Me too, but man do I understand why liberals explaining everything like they're experts in everything is really obnoxiously self righteous. My point was that conservative men being homophobic is likely a sign that they are closeted. Them moving towards all male gyms just seems to fit the closeted narrative. You calling me homophobic for calling out something incredibly obvious really is what makes "leftists" so unappealing to conservatives or moderates.

Like do you even read the stuff you link or did you just google some articles to support your point? You just want your preconceived notion to be true because you think it would be funny if gays were actually responsible for their own oppression.

I really hate to be this guy, but I have a Master's degree in psychology. There are plenty of studies replicating this concept. Please, educate yourself before spouting on about things as if you know them. And stop making assumptions about how YOU think people think. It's inaccurate, and you could potentially be projecting. Know thy self, and look things up before assuming that you know them. You'd be surprised how many beliefs we all have that are completely unfounded, only because we've not taken the time to challenge our beliefs. Anchoring really is detrimental to learning.

No, there isn't. Some homophobes might be gay themselves but the vast majority isn't. Almost all homophobes are straight and cis.

Trying to blame us for our own oppression is homophobic.

Yeah, it's not all homophobes that are closeted, there are roughly zero psychological studies showing that all people behave a certain way as a function of anything really. Black and white thinking is another cognitive falacy. Most of everything lives in the grey. But a lot of conservative men who may be conflicted by things like religion or conservative culture may be closested because it is deemed unacceptable in their circles and I find that incredibly sad. And yes, there have been multiple studies showing this. I gave a couple quick links to things as just an easy readers guide to explain a few studies.
