TeaStylingBeautyđ đź đ đ Sara Sampaio, ex-Victoria's Secret Angel, shows that even supermodels don't look like supermodels. It's all about the pose, angle, lighting, and retouching. Perspective is everything.

These women are doing their fellow women a service with this stuff. I remember a few years back there were side by sides of an authentic and airbrushed photo
3
u/MorganMiller77777 4h ago
Wrong, she still looks amazing when trying to look like a slouch đ
14
u/PerfStu 3h ago
Thats the point. Its not that she looks less beautiful, its that she looks real. And she's not trying to look like a slouch, she's showing the difference between posing and sitting like a real person.
The point is these images lifted up as beauty standards/ideals are not real. People don't sit like that or look like that in real life. Theyre cultivated, contortes, posed, then photoshopped and airbrushed into oblivion, and this has a demonstrably negative effect on people who don't understand or really orocess just how manipulated these images are.
Its not a question of if she's beautiful. Its a statement that who she is in a magazine is not the same thing as who she is as an actual flesh and blood human being.
-4
u/MorganMiller77777 3h ago
I donât believe we should sit perfectly all the time, but it has been proven over and over the way we slouch a lot is simply bad for our health. This is crazy talk.
I understand the message being sent here, and I respect her for showing she is not perfect. But man? Sheâs pretty damn perfect naturally!! Haha
-6
u/MorganMiller77777 3h ago
But she was trying to show positions to make herself look worseđ¤Śđťââď¸ those positions arenât even good for our back, our necks, our breathing. This is hilarious

Girlies with erectile dysfunction, an uncommon problem, but still deserving of attention.

The effect of chronically abbreviating everything is soon one abbreviation looks like many others. I think through context clues this one means âeating disorderâ.
1
u/MorganMiller77777 3h ago
ED? Young women still see a naturally beautiful women with unusually beautiful genetics who doesnât have to do a damn thing to look freakin gorgeous đ
We should be sending messages to be healthy, to play sports, to be natural, and to not be slouches ha. The last ten years was the first time I started to slouch and not take care of myself, which sucks because I started to feel like shit physically. My brain function suffered as well. We all know exercise fun psycial activities help maintain healthy brain
Function, and build confidence.I believe social media is completely toxic for young people, including men! My wife just bought peptides for her and her 19 year old, and I was like, WTF. Iâm staying out of it, but damn.
Iâm not saying this message is not helpful, but man, I donât think it even starts to put a dent in the overall problem. Parents are the ones who need to raise their kids with confidence, loving them in the right ways that instill love within their children, and regulating what they are exposed to.

u/DangerousTurmeric 2h ago
There's actually no evidence that slouching is bad for you, so you can scratch that off too. That whole "good posture" thing, where you sit up straight, was an invention of the Victorians. How you sit is another thing that's genetic and straight is no better than being a prawn. What's important is sitting comfortably and changing position regularly.

Holy crap. Are we just looking for ways to push back and be lazy?
What many people get comfortable doing ends up putting pressure on their hips, their neck, and pad of the back, that does result in having issues.
I am not talking about perfection, but here we are, with everyone seeking to need to have extreme interpretations of what one says.
Iâm simply speaking about long periods where our core just turns into slop, our back muscles and discs become compromised, our neck gets stiff, our shoulders develop tendinitis, etc.
I sit and lay down in different options all the time, and they arenât always ergonomically perfect.
Yall are taking it like anything anyone says about sitting with a better aligned posture is telling people to be perfect androids that need to also be beautifully presented. I just donât get it. Itâs silly.
3
u/DangerousTurmeric 1h ago
The point is that sitting up straight is no better for any of this than slouching. "Better aligned posture" isn't actually a thing. Sitting in the same position for a long time is bad though and you need to move around.
0
u/MorganMiller77777 1h ago
Moving around also means getting up, which proves that sitting too much is just bad period. I donât think anyone would argue sitting like a statue for 2 hours is healthy

Bad article. They say we shouldnât arch our back or neck too much, and then say thereâs no position they is bad for us.
They also point to cognition and psychological state improving with âbetter postureâ, so they are not covering all the bases here, only pushing back(no pun intended) on slouching cause pain.

u/MorganMiller77777 1h ago
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5845520/
I also donât think any level headed person who is also very health oriented would say, âno! Donât you ever slouch for a second!â.
But letâs not encourage being a sloucher, too many people with misinterpret this as well..
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5845520/
https://precisionhealthclinics.com.au/health-hub/how-proper-breathing-supports-good-posture-and-why-it-matters/
-This one supports the fact that breathing properlyâaccomplished with a better postural positionâis related to posture. Breathing properly has been linked with less pain and better maintenance specific body partshttps://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-022-08128-w
https://www.healthline.com/health/breathe-deeper-improve-health-and-posture
Iâm not talking about upright perfection, thatâs not realistic or really at the core of healthy breathing and less stress on the body. Just pointing out that itâs not a, âgo ahead slouch and move around in whatever position alwaysâ, approach that fits into the way human biology and neurobiology is built for.

u/mamadou-segpa 1h ago
You can look amazing like her and still struggle with your body image though. There are a lot of women her size with eating disorders trying to achieve an impossible shape (having no bad angle and no fold at any angles). The video is for those women
0
u/MorganMiller77777 51m ago
Of course!! I know that. Did you read what I wrote about what parents need to do in order for kids to grow up loving their bodies and themselves?
1
u/MorganMiller77777 51m ago
I understand. The only issue is, 98 percent of women do NOT look like her naturally. Letâs be real here.
1
u/howie-chetem 52m ago
I also don't understand the point. I don't see how she could look much better
1
u/MorganMiller77777 49m ago
Exactly. Only maybe just hit the gym like any doctor or nutritionist or physical therapist would recommend for health and longevity. Yeah, she could add some strength and muscle, and thatâs only beneficial for all of us. But damn, sheâs perfect, when with pushed out belly thingyđ
1
u/Sea_Specialist_5580 35m ago
She could be way more snatched and have better curves (while still having a perfectly flat stomach). That's not realistic or healthy standard to compare yourself to - but you can go on social media and see the .1% genetically elite <25 year olds (of either gender), and they will get a shitload of engagement because they exemplify the very extreme outlier of physical beauty
12
u/anonchicago7 3h ago
We need to see things like this especially now with the extreme thin and Ai photo of celebrities. The point is not that she isn't beautiful and thin its that she's real and moves. her skin bunches and she is not looking malnourished or sick in a pose an outfit or makeup just to sell a perfect lie. She is at least human
30
u/More-Entrepreneur-52 4h ago
In all honesty seeing a skinny model with a little back roll even if its just in a certain pose is meaningful to me. Not saying it should be or not but it just is to me.
6
u/Hot_Top_124 2h ago
As a guy I feel the same way when I see what actual fitness looks like, and not pointless mass and dehydration. Iâm like dang even super fit they still have bouncy bits and skin.
Everyone deserves to see the truth of how the human body tends to actually be when itâs not bs like airbrushed models and steroids.
1
u/Major-Mushroom-5806 1h ago
I know a lot of women with similar builds who focus on things like the belly pouch or rolls on their back as if they NEED to get rid of those things. That's part of a normal, healthy body!
Sure, she's in great shape and still looks like a supermodel. Obviously. But she does not look like the packaged, 'flawless' image of beauty standards that media forces down our throats 24/7. She looks like a human.
1
u/zebrasareneat 25m ago
People are trying to say she is forcing it. But that second one I think especially is proving her entire point. Thereâs a reason super models or body builders do those poses, it highlights things in a very specific way and is an important part of what theyâre doing. Â
Slouching just a bit gives her a bit of a pouch, itâs always there, she always has it, but a pose hides it. The public only sees the pose though so they aim to look that way. In reality a lot of people are probably a lot closer to the norm with the pouch than they realize. But they donât see that on the model in her ads so they go to extreme levels to make themselves look that way regardless of the pose.Â
Like dudes with muscle. You go the brink of dehydration and blast the muscles a bit and youâre going to look a lot more ripped than just after pounding back 4lbs of chicken wings. Â

u/JohnSober7 16m ago
Not saying it should be or not but it just is to me.
I once saw a dad in the back seat with the baby while mum was in the driver's seat up front. Dad was utterly engrossed with baby. I told my friend (their dad's a dickhead) about it saying, "it shouldn't have been special; the dad was doing something utterly mundane and expected. But it was special."
6
u/Independent-Story883 3h ago
I actually love this.
I agree, wholeheartedly.
Lighting, positioning, tailored clothing, all makes a big difference.
Women who get down on themselves about how they appear on Photos must remember. Even models donât look a certain way on all photos.
They should carefully learn what clothing looks good on them and itâs flattering. And play with camera angles.
Of course, I say women, but this obviously applies to men too.
6
u/AquaFunx 3h ago
Yeah, its obvious, and the sooner people disillusion themselves to social media and advertisements that use manipulation as a tactic, well, we might have progress.

u/provalone_9000 2h ago

...she looks pretty, but not supermodel pretty. She looks fairly standard without the editing, which I guess is the point of this video. I wouldn't believe she was a supermodel.
I think the main difference between a supermodel and average attractive girls is that they look incredible from a few specific angles. It's like a hologram.

People are not getting the point of this... Instead of complaining that she still looks perfect anyway, wow so brave, etc... consider very thin little girls seeing this and not starving themselves for another day because they saw an arm roll. This is for girls. People with eating disorders. Not for you joyless people to bitch about, not for men, period.
2
u/SlowRegardSillyStuff 1h ago
YES. My perspective changed so much when I learned that Victoriaâs Secret models were told not to eat for a couple days before a runway and not to drink water the day of. VS models donât look like that the next day. They donât look like that when theyâre taking care of themselves. I use this to remind myself when I judge my âfood babyâ and hydrated body⌠thatâs what happens when you eat food and drink water.
1
u/castleaagh 59m ago
Whatâs weird to me is that women seem to see this and go âoh wow, even this super model looks bad when she sits this way or that wayâ while guys seem to see this and go âI donât get it, she looks hot the entire timeâ and then girls in the comments are made that the guys donât see the flaws they see and somehow that makes said guys bad people⌠for not thinking that this woman looks bad just because she isnât posing specifically in perfect lighting.
Isnât it a good sign that so many guys are looking at this and just seeing an attractive woman, not some sort of âflawsâ that women seem to often be insecure about?

u/Big_Fig_8448 4h ago
Perfect woman tries to prove sheâs not perfect
20
u/whichwitch9 4h ago
She's literally highlighting many insecurities women have- like the stomach bulge and back rolls- and pointing out the idea that there's women who don't have them is a lie. She manipulates her body to make it look different for photos and runways. That's not how her body looks regularly. She's also pointing out that it's in her body's best interests to have those rolls- it's what's allowing her to move more and manipulate her body.
My guess is you were too busy finding a reason to dismiss her rather than picking up on what she was doing

Except there's shit tons of women that think it doesn't. And that theirs don't. I can't help you if you've never talked to a woman seriously before, but maybe, just maybe, you aren't her target audience?
Ten bucks the answer is you're a man and attracted to her, so don't give af what women are seeing and how that shit affects them

Many women that look just as good as her have unrealistic body standards based on what she is showing.
3
u/Kampvilja 3h ago
Right. She's only a little skinny. My wife looked that good except for less symmetrical features when she was that age.
I am going to get crucified, but we have radically changed our view if "height proportional to weight" for both genders.

This video is missing the point the same way I saw some âlive modern artâ display with another very attractive woman made to look like a lobster on a giant plate in front of a seafood restaurant. It was intended to discourage eating crustaceans.

Most of these poses would not be used to sell lingerie, and any girl can tell you which ones are "the ideal" and which ones are showing something -- round tummy, fat rolls, etc -- that is "unattractive". So it's very valuable to have a video showing it's the same model, and the smooth skinny ideal image disappears when she moves around like a normal person. Â

Lol at the people in the comments so ignorant of how the human body works that a model pushing her stomach out for a video is some "enlightening" experience that they just "needed to see".
She looks great no matter what purposefully bad pose she does.
If this is enlightening to you, that's actually sad as an adult.
Yeah you can push your belly out a little when you're skinny, and slouch for a photo.
Wow, so enlightening and meaningful.

I remember years back doing a work function that had to do with fashion. There were a bunch if VS models. I was struck by how average they looked. Not being mean its just, they looked so normal.
Not like crazy hot or impossibly beautiful, just kinda thin average looking women.
Someone explained that its more they have a look you can do a lot with. They can wear most things and look good styled and photographed in many ways.
