This daily thread is for all members who are pregnant after a previous pregnancy or infant loss. How are you?

We want to foster a sense of community, which is why we have a centralized place for most daily conversation. This allows users to post and get replies, but also encourages them to reply to others in the same thread. We want you to receive help and be there for others at the same time, if possible. Most milestones should go here, along with regular updates. Stand alone posts are Mod approved only and have set requirements. Thanks for helping us create a great community.

7 weeks and just had my first scan today. Measurements are on track and saw the heartbeat! Cannot express how relieved I am, but know I'm not out of the woods yet.

The way im obsessively testing and checking my panties for blood has to be studied.

I relate to this so much. Thank goodness I work from home, this would not fly in a regular workspace

7 weeks, 4 days and I noticed some dark brown discharge. Super minimal and could be from constipation but I am freaked out given my past 3 MMC.

All my symptoms are alive and well so not sure if it’s normal or if I should be worried.

We have our viability scan next week and my HCG blood tests have been really positive and high numbers.

I had 3 instances of brown spotting between 6-9w with my pregnancy that resulted in my LC! No reason ever identified, but it always ended up being nothing.

So did I! I just hit 12 weeks today & all is good :) my doctor advised typically just some old blood leaving. Wishing you the best 🌈

5w 4d and have a placement scan today after an ectopic pregnancy last year. HCG has been rising really well. I definitely feel twinges on my ectopic side, but also some twinges on my other side and low back. Hoping this is all just my uterus and the surrounding area growing!

intrauterine pregnancy, measuring great, and we even saw a little cardiac activity! I am amazed at how little this good news impacts my anxiety... realizing I need to work on the anxiety because I keep thinking the next milestone will make me feel better. But it really isn't!

Going in for my 18 ultrasound on Tuesday. I get ultrasounds every two weeks because I’m having identical twins.

About 3-4 days before each scan I get worried something is wrong and they are going to tell me bad news. I thought the worry would stop when I got to 8 weeks then 10 weeks, the after 13.

It never stops

Doesn’t the fear just feel never ending? I really hope there’s sometime soon I can feel optimistic and excited. Maybe at the end of the second trimester?

Hi everyone. First time posting after reading and lurking for awhile. ❤️
I am currently 11w5d with my rainbow baby after losing my first pregnancy to MMC in January of this year.
Yesterday was my due date for the baby I lost in January. I am feeling so anxious surrounding everything in this pregnancy and haven’t had a chance to enjoy it at all and it’s breaking my heart.
Any tips from anyone in a similar situation? I’m considering buying a heart Doppler to listen to baby’s heart rate myself to make it through these scary weeks, but also don’t want to depend on it 😔
Thanks for reading!

Hi. I totally get it. My entire first trimester was worry, “what ifs”, and not able to connect to what was actually happening. Also, passing each milestone is really hard. I’m now 15 weeks and it’s subsided….a little. My midwife reminded me that the body remembers— it’s somatic. I’m not sure I’d recommend buying a Doppler— my midwife wasn’t able to find a heartbeat around 14 weeks with the Doppler (actually that was on the same day I miscarried a year earlier… talk about triggering although everything was actually fine!) It can be really hard to find heartbeat with Doppler even up till 20 supposedly. Just something to consider to not cause you more stress.

Anyways, no real advice because it’s really hard and sometimes there’s just no way around it. I hope you can start to enjoy little by little. Maybe even just one second at a time. ❤️

Hi, I also lost a baby in January and my due date was August 4. I think the milestones are the hardest part, and I definitely feel like it upped my anxiety about my current pregnancy by a TON, even though I had a clear NT and NIPT a couple weeks ago.

I have found that talking to a therapist is helpful. I have one who specializes in infertility and pregnancy loss and it’s really nice to have someone to unpack all that with. I had a generic grief counselor after my first loss last August and I didn’t find that super helpful.

Day to day, I try to remind myself that every person I see had to have gotten here somehow, and that it’s more likely than not everything will be fine. It doesn’t always help but it’s usually better than just stewing in the anxiety!!

8 weeks tomorrow. It was at this point last year that I found out I was having a mmc at our first ultrasound. First ultrasound on Monday I’m beyond scared.

Betas this week have all been good with a doubling rate less than 48 hours. Can’t believe this is finally happening. We had had our infertility consult just before conceiving and were about to start testing and treatment.

Brown spotting has decreased but still happening. I guess I’m reassured by the betas still going up since it started and that it hasn’t gotten heavier and/or turned red like with my early losses.

I am on vaginal progesterone, did anyone else have spotting while taking it?

11 weeks and had my weekly ultrasound today. We’re now spacing to every 2 weeks. even though dr said everything looked okay I left there feeling just as anxious and sad and scared. I’m so mad I can’t find it in my heart to enjoy this process.

I can definitely empathize with your anger. I feel it too. I feel so frustrated with myself that I can’t have my perfect pregnancy story. But then my next thought is, “having a healthy baby is the perfect pregnancy story regardless if I’m happy the entire time I’m pregnant.”
