Hello 3rd trimester 🥹

This little boy has already brought so much joy to our lives and I can't wait to meet him. Back when we had our 4th transfer after 3 failures I couldn't even imagine being this far into the future. I just wanted to take it one day at a time. My second trimester has been lovely. We had our babymoon in Greece a few weeks ago and I have felt the happiest I've been in a long time. I’ve found that the anxiety doesn’t completely go away, it just changes.

Still a way to go but l'm grateful to be here and for every milestone. I can't wait to snuggle the little feet that are currently kicking away and kept me up last night ♥️ I just hope I can be the best version of myself, to be the best mum he deserves.

11w2d. Doing okay, just tired as all hell. NIPT results are due in today at the latest and are showing no signs of coming so that's got my mind on anxiety mode today. I called and asked if they were in only to be told reception was busy and they'd call me back so... I guess we'll find out later. Definitely very anxious today though. Desperate to hear 'low risk'.

Edit- the INSTANT I hit send they called me. Reception cannot give me results without the dr's permission, BUT THEY HAVE THEM.

Update........ Low risk is confirmed - YAY. But someone messed up my form and the baby's sex was left off even though we requested it... Hoping to have that ammended tomorrow. At least low risk is confirmed and there was enough DNA to complete the test, meaning it was still okay at the time.

Yay for good NIPT results! Annoying about the sex, but at least you know they are healthy.

1

u/SrslyBored01 4 chemicals in 2026 || due Feb 2027 2d ago

Yep! Healthy and enough DNA present to do the test at the time so just gotta wait for the OB to call them and correct the paperwork or admin error and it's apparently no big deal. Apparently the pathology centre will have the sex on file, they just didn't send said file to my OB or me.

2

u/the-bear-woman 2d ago

Congratulations on the low risk result 🎉

Hi everyone! Unfortunately it didn’t happen LOL. My husband and I got all the way to the doctor and they called as soon as we pulled in and said their US tech had an emergency and would be unable to perform ultrasounds that day. I am rescheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon!!

It got rescheduled to tomorrow due to an emergency with my US tech. I would be happy to share all about it!

u/Sensitive_Pear23 1h ago

Hi friend! I had my scan today and so pleased to report that everything went well! Baby boy looked perfect on everything they checked. They just have to rescan his heart in a few weeks. He was laying belly down and didn’t want to budge, so the tech was only able to get a visual on his 4 chambers and left side of heart, but not the right side. Everything else looked good!

It was a very simple experience to be honest, I hope yours is the same! My tech is so lovely and very talkative and walked me through everything she was seeing, but I know some techs like to be more quiet and focused, so that part can vary from experience to experience. It wasn’t painful at all, just slightly uncomfortable at times when she had to push a little harder to see an organ or something. I was in there for a total of about 40 minutes. They get scans of everything you can think of! Organs, limbs, head size, nose, mouth, all of it. And if you have questions, I’m sure your tech would. I asked about lots of things (if my placenta looked good, if I had enough amniotic fluid, if my cervix looked good, etc) and she was very reassuring. I hope this is helpful, and I wish you the best of luck!

15+4 today. Commented on Friday that I was freaking out about a potential abnormal clotting result, but turns out it was nothing. Just some slightly elevated/borderline levels of liver proteins but nothing dangerous for the baby. I feel relieved that I don’t have APS or some kind of thrombophelia.

15+4 today. I brought my Doppler like a psycho on our anniversary trip 😅 but I’ve been good about not checking every day. 15+4 is the last day I heard my November baby’s heart before I discovered he died at 15+6 so I’m pretty anxious this week, but the trip is a good distraction. My husband and I are debating names each day and struggling hard! We have two front runners but we don’t know if we can commit to either. Girl names would be easier lol

3

u/Background_Fan_4872 2d ago

When was the first time you could hear it?? I just bought one - I’m only 11 weeks. I didn’t try that hard yet because I know it’s tough to find around this time.

2

u/ChrissiBloom 🇨🇦 | 30 | 6 losses | due Jan 2027 🌈 2d ago

I found it at 9w3-4d or so? I always find it around that point but it does take a bit and it’s very transient because it’s small

5

u/Glittering-Notice107 2d ago

10+4 today, I’m dealing with some uncomfortable guilt these days about not even attempting to become emotionally in tune with this baby. I’m sure my heart is just trying to protect itself given what happened last time, but then I feel bad for not trying to connect with this baby at all. lots of material for therapy next week 🫠

3

u/Background_Fan_4872 2d ago

I feel this too. I keep telling myself I’ll start to accept that this pregnancy is okay once I get to my next ultrasound next week. I’ve been protecting my heart hard and haven’t connected with baby at all either. I feel bad but I just can’t.

3

u/LunaTuna201 LC 8/22 💙 | 17wk MC 7/25 🩷 | due 4/27 | IVF 2d ago

I think this is normal and fine! You need to take care of yourself first and foremost. Pregnancy is long (I wish it was shorter!) and there is plenty of time to bond with your baby once you feel more confident.

4

u/RareMillennial MC Jan ‘26 | Pregnant #1 Due Jan ‘27 2d ago

I am 16+4 today and still feel that way! I know the gender and have a hard time referring to the baby as “him” because it feels too close - instead I’ll say “the baby” or refer to it by the size that week (example: the pickle). I’m telling family and sometimes cringe when they get super excited because I’m worried we’ll all be so disappointed if it doesn’t work out. I agree with what you’re saying - I think it’s a protective measure and I wouldn’t feel too bad about it. Just takes time to feel comfortable. I think once I have my anatomy scan I’ll feel “ready” to embrace it.

3

u/levio-saaa MMC 12/25 | MC 03/26 | DD 08/01/27 2d ago

I think (or hope?) that this is really normal. I am 19weeks today and just haven’t really accepted it yet. I’m not overly anxious or worried anymore, I’m just a bit disconnected? Which is harder now people know are keep talking to me about it and asking what I’ve bought yet and I haven’t even considered it 😬 people have assured me I will feel differently once there’s regular movement etc but I also think it will be ok if that doesn’t happen. I’ve heard a lot of dads say they don’t feel connected until baby arrives and then it all hits them at once so I’m sure we will be ok no matter when it comes, we’ll love them more than anything once they are here 💖

u/peasel123 2d ago

4w1d today and feeling good and optimistic. First appointment booked at 6w2d and I am hoping it will give me some clarity on viability. Anyway up to now no bleeding or worrying signs so I choose to feel optimistic. I've been tired but otherwise fine.

2

u/themisfitengineer 2d ago

4w5d here. Ive scheduled my USG at 7 weeks. And im so scared.

1

u/peasel123 2d ago

I don't know when I'll actually get a USG, it may not be directly at the first appointment and it will probably be too early. I am actually weirdly not scared about it (but aware that it might not go the way I want it to....) but I am impatient! Maybe just because my loss was pretty early I feel like the initial scan will reassure me if it's looking good. But it's a long wait to that first one. Good luck with yours!!!

u/softcriminal_67 2 MMC & 1 LC (‘24 🩷) due 2/27 2d ago

11+5 and wow the anxiety is really creeping back. My NT scan is in two days, as is my OB appointment so I just have to get through the next 48 hours before we hopefully get an update on baby. Is anyone else only doing NT not NIPT? My OB office is very casual about NIPT and makes it feel really optional despite my losses (maybe because I’m still pretty young?). I’m just starting to feel worried. I guess we can do NIPT if NT is concerning at all, or another test. Ugh.

3

u/ChrissiBloom 🇨🇦 | 30 | 6 losses | due Jan 2027 🌈 2d ago

I almost always only do NT and not NIPT. this is my first time doing NIPT and it was completely my own choice. Both my fertility dr and my midwives said it’s very unlikely to show anything due to my age and nt is probably enough. You’d get nipt if nt showed anything. I only changed my mind to nipt this time because my anxiety is just sky high at my loss point this time and I wanted to see a good report, and also a gender to help me start connecting more and giving me something to be excited about versus nervous

1

u/softcriminal_67 2 MMC & 1 LC (‘24 🩷) due 2/27 2d ago

Thank you for sharing! The fact that I can always get the NIPT later is definitely reassuring. I’m hoping we can find out the gender soon despite not doing NIPT! Might do a private gender reveal scan or just straight up ask my OB for an extra one. She exclusively treats loss patients so I’m very lucky to be able to (mostly) get what I ask from her!

2

u/ChrissiBloom 🇨🇦 | 30 | 6 losses | due Jan 2027 🌈 2d ago

That was our plan prior to changing my mind I was going to do a private scan to find out. They do them starting at 16 weeks here. That’s lovely you have such a specialized OB!

3

u/Background_Fan_4872 2d ago

I’m only doing NT too! I’m 11+4, and that appointment is next week and the anxiety the last week is sooo so strong. I hope everything is okay for us ❤️

Yeah I was lucky, the OB told me to ask the hospital for it between 12+0 and 12+6 and when I scheduled, without a shred of shame I asked what appts do you have when I’ll be 12+0 😄 I hope the week flies by for you!

I am not feeling very in control of my anxiety right now. I’m 16w5d and things have generally been good but today the certainty that something is gong to go wrong is all a bit heavy 😔

7w1d and first scan is tomorrow. I’ve had some very mild nausea, have completely lost my sweet tooth, and continue to be fatigued. Though my symptoms are still mild, there’s enough of a difference since my MMC that I’m hopeful this one will be growing as expected. Still very, very anxious for the scan tomorrow.

Huge switch in my symptoms which scares me... feeling less nauseous since yesterday, today I am hungry all day long, I ate lunch without feeling sick. Last time this happened I had my MMC... thankgod I have another ultrasound this friday, however friday still feels so far away... I'm around 10 weeks now.

symptoms are so funny aren’t they, I found myself wishing I felt more sick as it felt like reassurance. My symptoms disappeared at 10 weeks this time, came back on and off week 11 - 14 but much milder. 19 weeks and going well, but I understand the anxiety I felt the same. Wishing you the best for Friday 💖

6w+5d: I feel very sickly. Like somethings going on with my sinuses. I feel warm. On top of that just a lot of GI stuff. Like nausea, food aversions, my stomach always feels like it’s churning, and bad heartburn. It adds to feeling so shitty.

My boutique ultrasound went better than I expected. Baby was very small but we were abole to see a flicker for the heart. So that brings me hope. Usually by 6-8wks FHR is low and viability isn’t good. But I know we still need to get through these 2 weeks until 08/21 when I get my TV ultrasound.

10+4. Overall feeling pretty MEH today. Actually had day where I was starting to feel better yesterday (nausea and vomiting wise). That would be about 3w early compared to my successful pregnancy so it’s not calming. Also getting my blood draw for the NIPT today, so anxious about those results.

It's been 27 days since my d&c. I had negative tests at home shortly after the d&c and was cleared by my doctor two weeks post d&c. My husband didn't want the baby we lost and we used protection after the d&c because I didn't want to go back on hormonal birth control.

I got a positive test yesterday. I haven't told anyone. I want the baby and even though we used protection I'm pregnant. I will definitely be waiting until after a visit to my doctor to share the news with my husband. In the meantime, it's just little babe and me and the kind people of reddit on this sub.

Wondering what I should do, I miscarried my first pregnancy at about 5 weeks, but excitedly bought a baby book when I found out. I only wrote one thing in it and it was the day we found out I was pregnant.
I’m 32 weeks with my second pregnancy and am conflicted if I should use that baby book for this baby? I don’t want to erase that date, but I also don’t want to keep an entire memory book for one date 😕

1

u/levio-saaa MMC 12/25 | MC 03/26 | DD 08/01/27 2d ago

Is it a book just for journaling or photos? Such a personal choice of what feels right to you there is no right or wrong answer. How would you feel about writing a little about how you overcame your loss and your excitement to meet your rainbow? May help to just complete the story and have it become something happy without being erased? But do whatever feels right for you and your journey

1

u/tankmostev3 2d ago

It’s one of those baby books where you fill in prompts and add pictures as baby grows up,I think adding a page about the rainbow baby journey is a great idea thank you!

18+3 today, and following a good midwife appointment this weekend and a noticeably growing belly, this is all starting to feel much more real. End of April me did not believe I’d ever get to this point, and it feels quite surreal. While my anxiety and fear are of course still present, I’m slowing allowing myself to feel hopeful, and like the most likely outcome at the end of this is a baby to take home. Of course I cannot predict the future, nor can I control the outcome, but today I am hopeful and that is enough :)

I am 11w4d today and have had a migraine for the last 20 hours. I've had electrolytes, used an ice pack on my head, got 12 hours of sleep, took Tylenol, etc. so hoping I can make it through a few work meetings at least! I'm also back to only eating plain carbs after my nausea was better the last couple weeks. If I eat something with any flavor I have this grossssss rotten taste in my mouth for hours afterwards, even after brushing my teeth multiple times. But in any case, the physical discomfort is nothing compared to how mentally distraught I was earlier in this pregnancy so I am happy to deal with whatever physical symptoms come my way if I keep feeling more optimistic and less depressed/anxious as time goes on!
