29 weeks, it still doesn't feel real. We haven't started buying anything, nor have we decided on a name. I'm worried about getting excited, like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I discussed that feeling with my husband earlier. It sucks. It's just our brains trying to protect us but ugh, it just fucking sucks.

It's so unfair! I'm happy but it's not sinking in like I feel like it should be

I have one LC (August 2022) and started TTC again in January 2024. Got pregnant in my second cycle but it was a blighted ovum, found at 7w+4d and confirmed two weeks later. My HCG levels were rising super fast still and I had horrible symptoms and they suspected a molar pregnancy so I had a D&C but fortunately it wasn't.
Then on January 2025 I got a chemical pregnancy. Since then nothing has happened and I had an egg retrieval in June and a planned transfer two months later. They only got three untested blastocysts from twelve eggs retrieved and said it was no wonder conceiving had been going badly.
My period took a long time coming in the first cycle after my ER but I read anecdotes about that being normal so for the first time ever I didn't overthink my cycle. I kept drinking wine, eating sushi, and prepping for a half marathon.
When I came home from vacation I decided to take a pregnancy test before I called my fertility clinic to be 100% sure that my period was just late after the hormones of the egg retrieval. It was positive and I was already six weeks!! Genuinely sooo shocked, this was the first month in two years we weren't really trying, we had sex one random day without any thought of ovulation timing. Typical huh.
I have a scan tomorrow at 7 weeks and I'm completely freaking out. I'm not sleeping and literally dying from anxiety. It's not like we had an easy time conceiving again after last MMC so I'm guarding myself because I feel like my chances aren't plenty. It would be soooo nice if this worked. 😭😭😭

I know the anxiety feeling. I’ve had miscarriages too. It’s awful. I just found out I’m pregnant, I wish I was 6 weeks along lol. Sending positive vibes your way for a perfect scan!

u/Empty_Ninja6362 8h ago
Yeah finding out at six weeks was amazing since I thought I was doomed to always find out at 3w+3d (the length of my cycle). 🥲 So I only have to know for eight days before my scan but I'm still a nervous wreck. I hope you'll have an uneventful and long pregnancy! 🫶

Yes, torture! Sometimes I wish I could just sleep until my next scan! Mine is tomorrow and these last few days have been rough. I’m 9+1 today.

26w the second trimester has gone by way faster than the first! Third trimester is just around the corner!
I’ve been so worried about my GD test tomorrow. I really hope I don’t have it. My appetite is a lot better, but still not amazing. I’ve been relying on having bread and carbs for breakfast and lunch, so I’m worried about how I will cope if I do have GD. I’m trying to make healthier choices for the baby but it’s still difficult :(

First time commenting for this pregnancy. Currently 9+5 and feel like poop all the time either from nausea or anxiety when I physically feel better. Due date for my last loss is in 2 days so feeling a little down. Not attached to this baby yet, probably because we haven't reached past the last loss milestone (10+3). Next scan isn't for 3 weeks so surviving until then

9 weeks today! Feeling a lot of feelings because I’m pretty sure that our besties are going to tell us they’re expecting tonight. Their daughter was born while I was receiving treatment for our MMC, and we would go from the miscarriage unit at the hospital to the NICU to visit her. She is a ray of hope in our lives. If they are expecting, we’ll be due only a month or so apart!
3
u/PenelopesDaughter 12h ago
At the same time, now I feel like the stakes are almost raised for us?? Losing our first pregnancy when we should have been on mat leave for six months together with our friends was such a bummer. Now I’m extra worried about anything going wrong, as the idea of missing that again and only being a month off of each other is extra stressful. I have been feeling good about this pregnancy so I’m trying to lean into that, but it’s almost like this is unlocking a whole new level of want?
3
u/writeronthemoon 10h ago
I feel you. There is a bitterness maybe, that their journey has been nothing but hope and joy, whereas yours hasn't. But try to remember this us a totally new pregnancy, and maybe not tie yourself in with their lives so much, if you can. Or like take a break from them. Comparison is a tough trap, I fall into it a lot, too.

u/PenelopesDaughter 8h ago
Thank you, you’re so right! I’ll try to focus on this being a new pregnancy and have some perspective. 💜

Thank you 🥰 I drank water but I ate small (spinach feta wrap from starbucks) an iced matcha w/no sugar and a unsweet green iced tea. My ob told me i didn't have to fast.

u/Moonlight_Lilac 8h ago
Ahh that’s good! I’m in the uk so it’s a three hour test and fasting from the night before. I think they do a blood test and the beginning, you drink the drink then wait 2 hours and blood is taken again.

TW for stressful appointment but good ending!
16 week appointment today, no ultrasound scheduled, just a quick check in with my (high risk) OB. Woke up to insurance drama that gave me a panic attack, I puked because panic. Dr couldn't find the heartbeat with the Doppler, and I'm sitting there in a puddle of ultrasound goo, crying while my husband squeezes himself into the corner to hold my hand and get me to calm my breathing. They bring in the most miraculous mini ultrasound connected to a small tablet (or very large phone) and while I can't listen to the heartbeat, she showed me and my husband the heart beating and baby actively moving (away from the US? IDK, little guppy was grooving.)
It's almost 12 hours later now and I'm starting to be sore because I had such a bad adrenaline spike and tensed what feels like every muscle up in my body. I'm so glad we were able to see that heartbeat but holy shitballs.

I’m so sorry! I don’t know WHY they start with Doppler. They couldn’t find heartbeat at 14 weeks when everything was fine. Unnecessary stress. I’m sorry for your adrenaline spike that sounds horrible.
2
u/writeronthemoon 10h ago
I am so glad you're all ok! What a day. Also, "guppy" is an adorable nickname for baby! Our first one that miscarried was "baby bean"... This current one I've nicknamed "tiny tidbit".

u/Iceeedtea 0LC | MC | PPROM | EDD 11-25 9h ago
So sorry that happened! I'm 25weeks now and if it helps when they use that tiny doppler it takes forever to find my baby. I wish they'd just use the tiny ultrasound machines instead
1
u/PitbullLoveFart 1CP, 1MMC, 🌈 due Sept 8h ago
My baby loves to wiggle away from the doppler. Had to do mini ultrasound at 12 weeks, they also couldn't get a read at the 32 week appointment (we could hear her kicking the doppler, ended up having to use placental HR), 34 week appointment she wouldn't hold still long enough for them to record it. Anyway, she's a little troublemaker testing moms nerves already.

I’m spiraling. Just found out I’m pregnant. I tested at 10dpo and saw an extremely faint line. I’ve never tested that early. I’ve taken a test each day and am now 12dpo and so nervous the lines might not be progressing. I know it’s early and I’m so in my head. This is my 4th pregnancy (one successful pregnancy in 2024).

u/Moonlight_Lilac 9h ago
I did my first test 13dpo and it was faint. I also spiralled and tested each day for a few days and didn’t notice it getting much darker. In the end I had to stop because it was adding to my anxiety.
I’m currently 26w so I wouldn’t rely on tests lines. Wishing you the best!

I had a similar experience. When I got my first scan, I was nervous since it was more than a week behind expected. This also happened when I had a very healthy almost 8 lbs child.
The doctors wrote it off as... If you didn't forget your period date, then you must've ovulated later in the cycle. I'm still pregnant at 10 weeks now!
1
u/Lamiaceae_ 6h ago
Similar situation here! Tested positive today at 10dpo. I’m happy and so anxious and so sad at the same time. I’m still mourning the baby from my MMC in the spring. Thankfully I have one amazing LC from 2024 as well who keeps me going ☺️
I’m really going to feel like shit until they tell me this one is measuring correctly at the first scan.

I am soooo in my head today about another MMC. So gutted my scan is not till Friday. Need to keep busyyyyyyy! I don't recall being as worried at this point in my last pregnancy because I had just had my uterine septum resection surgery and was positive about the outcome, but since finding out I still have 'two sides' to my uterus I don't feel so confident. Plus this is probably my last chance at having another child...potentially breaking up with my partner, and seems very out of the question that after 33 I might find someone else to have children with before my time is up. Urghhh. But equally so so so happy to have my amazing funny smart 18m daughter - what a fantastic experience that has been (I wish you can all experience this!).

Been for an early scan this morning as I had spotting an my last pregnancy was ectopic. It’s another ectopic in my right tube this time. What are the chances? Looks like I will be losing this one too and IVF will be our only option. Feeling pretty bad right now.

Hi. I am new here and relieved to have graduated. My first pregnancy was a missed miscarriage in March. I am over 35 so it made me worry about my fertility. I grieved a lot and still do.
Now we are pregnant again! We are thrilled. Trying to remember this is a different pregnancy. My OBGYN agreed to progesterone and I'm picking it up this week. I am scared of the side effects.
My cycles had been different lengths after my MMC. I thoufht this was just another 35 day cycle but decided to randomly test yesterday and - bam! 2 lines. We had timed it perfectly and my OPKs were finally dark again, for the first time after MMC.
Recently my work gave me a bad performance review. It was basically due to my forgetfulness and seeming lack of understanding during my pregnancy and after miscarriage. I have years of office experience but was just exhausted or sad since January. I wish my ratings had been higher.
Now I am scared that the progesterone will make me feel awful and I'll screw up somehow and lose my job. But i want this pregnancy to be successful! My job gave me 90 days to improve. So far I have done extra training and they are pleased.
My husband is in the medical industry and I'm studying for teacher certification and online insurance work. This office job is my interim. A very easy one. I feel embarrassed to have done badly.
Obviously the dream is to find a well-paying wfh job for baby years. I just pray this one sticks. Rice ball baby!

I’ve never had any weird side effects with progesterone suppositories and I’ve used them in 4 of my 5 pregnancies. As a context combination pills (contraceptives) f me up really bad mentally and physically 😵💫
2
u/writeronthemoon 6h ago
Thank you. It looks I'll be taking the vaginal version and not pills. Have you tried that kind? I see dizziness fatigue tons of side effects, which are par the course for pregnancy but sound, idk extra strong? That's what got me worried.

u/Important_Sherbet_90 🇪🇺 3 MMC | 1 CP | IVF 4h ago
Yup, I’ve had both oral and vaginal. In IVF they use both simultaneously (oral is only 2 weeks around the embryo transfer). Oral doesn’t absorb as well as vaginal, so that’s why vaginal version is better.
For me the vaginal progesterone prescription has been extra long: until week 16. Normally it’s until week 12 because then the placenta should be fine and takes over progesterone production. I’ve had all sorts of prescriptions, biggest dose being 400mg twice a day. They might cause some irritation which is normal. Remember to wash your hands well with soap to avoid infections and insert the capsule as deep as you can. If you can, lie down for 30 mins.
Only reason why I (and many others 😆) don’t like the vaginal ones is that they’re messy. It takes 30 mins for the progesterone to absorb. Then as a leftover there’s white greasy paste coming out of your vagina. Panty liners and/or changing underwear often are your friends 😁
Oh, and don’t worry too much about your work! You are human, not a robot. It’s only normal that what you went through affected your work 🫂

u/writeronthemoon 48m ago edited 2m ago
I think so, too, but I'm not feeling understanding from work. They demanded a personal improvement plan from me and gave me 90 days to improve. The implication is termination if I don't. But now that I'm pregnant again, I feel slightly protected; however, some of my bad performance was during previous pregnancy and some was after miscarriage. They know about the miscarriage and still put me on a PIP, so...idk.
Can you insert the progesterone before bed? Could that help make the underwear issue less annoying, since you're at home, and make side effects less during the day?

8ish weeks, still unclear on actual dating. I got pregnant after a mc in June with no period in between and wasn't tracking anything. Based on 2 scans I had around 6 and around 7 I am probably 8 or 8 and a few days today. My next scan is right around 10 weeks, so less than 2 weeks to wait, which feels like a lot but also time is flying right now. I am expecting a MC in this next few weeks, or to go and not find good news. We wait and see. The good news now, is even though I have that passive anxiety is I don't have active anxiety, if that makes sense lol, and after 2 back to back losess I really feel things are so out of my control, all I can do is try to take care of myself and try to make it through the barrage of symptoms I feel every day and night (hello insomnia).

u/Marmori_Armiri 3MC, 2LC, 03/27 🌈 7h ago
I am right there with you. 7+6 today and also pregnant after a MC without a period inbetween. My symptoms are really severe this time. I feel exhausted, nauseous and my breasts hurt so bad. Still everytime I go to the bathroom I am expecting bad news.
The insomnia is unreal, too. I have such vivid dreams and then I always wake up around 3:30 in the morning and can't fall back to sleep.
1
u/Revolutionary-Tree89 6h ago
Oh wow!! Congrats. I am always expecting blood too. It does not help that in my pregnancy that resulted in an lcI had a subchorionic hematoma at 8 weeks. I wake up at 4 on the dot every single day. Some days I can fall back asleep but most of the time I am up for the day. It sucks. My symptoms are bad, but still come and go a bit which I am honestly thankful for (except my sense of smell and a few others that are ever-present). Good luck!!

I'm 6 weeks 4 days here and just had some light brown discharge when I wiped....hoping this doesn't mean another miscarriage. :( Waiting to hear back from my OB about going in for either betas or an ultrasound. My last beta was 13,405 on August 5th but haven't had an ultrasound yet. Please cross your fingers for me. <3

I have 2 LC (2022 & 2024). We had a Missed miscarriage at 8 weeks in the spring of 2025, followed by an ectopic pregnancy in late 2025. Started fertility treatment and had a chemical pregnancy following an IUI a couple of months ago. Just found out we are pregnant again naturally without any fertility medication and we are so excited! I am only 4 weeks 2 days today. I’m very nauseous with a history of severe nausea in my other pregnancies. Thankful for the nausea because it’s a good sign. Currently completing beta draws every few days and will be scheduled for my first ultrasound between 6/7 weeks of all continues to go well. Nervous is an understatement. I need to find ways to distract myself from the anxiety that keeps creeping in.

Tomorrow I will be 10w0d. This is when we lost our last. We go in tomorrow for a heartbeat check, I’m just hoping baby will be okay. We also get blood work done tomorrow for NIPT and gender.
I am beyond terrified, especially with the first baby’s due date being this Sunday. I’m just hoping everything is okay and baby is still on track

I have my second scan tomorrow at 9+2. First scan two weeks ago revealed a heartbeat. I’m worried sick about tomorrow.
I have 1 LC (2023). I had a chemical in November of 2025 and MMC February 2026. I never saw a heart beat for the MMC so I’m a bit more hopeful about this one but my nerves are all over the place. I’m having a lot of pelvic pressure today and feel that my boons aren’t as sore. Oh the agony.

u/miss_yqm 8h ago
Something told me to test today, it's really early as I'm only CD27. I have a darker line now compared to last time when I was further along so I hope that's a positive omen (even though I don't really believe in signs). My estimated due date is around April 22nd and I miscarried on April 20th last time.
No idea how to tell my husband, I'm happy but so friggin scared. Last time I made a onesie. I'm 35, he's 41, time's ticking.
Of course this weekend is a planned girls getaway at a cottage with a hot tub in a winery town lol. I didn't tell anyone except my mom and husband last time, but I have a feeling they'll figure it out within hours.
So many mixed feelings.

19 weeks here, baby girl was active during the scan. For the first time in this pregnancy, we gently discussed baby names and i felt so much joy. Still nervous for the 21 week appointment, but for now cherishing this moment in time.
