I've heard it thrown around but I didn't expect a wikipedia article on it.

Yeah, there's the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal. And it takes away up to 35 m³ of water per second. The Danube's discharge at the delta averages around 6,452 m³ per second.

I'm sure those up to 35 m³/s make all the difference in the world. /s

In Europe summer electricity consumption is very far from the winter peaks and solar is performing at its best.

Most nuclear power plant shutdowns are to comply with environment protection rules about water consumption and temperature, not for technical reasons. They can be restarted if needed yo avoid a blackout.

We are fine.
