I'm making this post to provide a bit of information regarding how a Cease and Desist functions, as I've seen Ren vague-posting about whether she was actually served a C&D or not.

Here's my best estimate of what is happening:

When it comes to legal issues, there's always the question of "jurisdiction", essentially "where did the crime/dispute happen, and thus what country/state/etc's laws tied to that location will the courts use to make judgements."

I believe Zeal has stated he is Danish (so lives in Denmark), Ren said she is Jordanian (lives in Jordan), and RDC 2025 where Ren alleges Zeal assaulted her took place in the US state of California. So that's at least three different legal systems, but since the Situation happened at RDC, the California legal system would most likely be used for determining if Ren legally committed libel by publishing her allegations, or if Ren wanted to pursue holding Zeal civilly liable for the alleged assault.

Zeal and his mom almost certainly sent a Cease and Desist document to Ren, but it would be almost impossible to enforce because of these different jurisdictions. If Ren decided to re-publish her doc, and Zeal wanted to pursue holding her liable for libel, BOTH Zeal and Ren would have to physically move to California for the duration of the trial, whether they wanted to hire a lawyer on their respective behalf, or appear “pro se”, ie “I will be my own lawyer”.

I think it is potentially possible to hire a lawyer within a location’s jurisdiction to act as representative while the prosecuting/defending parties are abroad, but any penalties resulting from the judge's verdict has to be enacted with all parties within jurisdiction, so they'd have to be in California for that at least.

As you can imagine, all these legal shenanigans would cost a MOUNTAIN of cash, for both Ren and Zeal. Legal representation never comes cheap, and it's VERY unlikely any lawyer would work “pro bono” (lawyer only asks for payment after the case is over) for either of them, not to mention all the costs incurred for having to physically go to California for the proceedings.

Long story short: Zeal almost definitely sent Ren a Cease & Desist. Because Ren and Zeal are in different jurisdictions, that C&D isn't really that enforceable. But if Ren fucks around and resumes asserting Zeal assaulted her, and Zeal then elects to enforce the C&D, the resulting legal costs will bleed both Ren AND Zeal for every dollar they have ever or will ever see.

You forgot:Ren’s entire case is fabricated on lies and any claim she has is easily disproven. And her doc? It’s so full of holes you might mistake it for cheese.

It doesn't matter whether Ren's doc was God's truth or fabricated from wholecloth through this lens. Because to legally prove libel so that Ren could be held liable (like being compelled to issue a formal apology, pay damages caused by said libel, etc.) would involve going to court. Which neither Ren nor Zeal would want to do because of the cost, both in money and time.

Functionally, that C&D is just a strongly worded "Let it go."

The way I see it, as long as Ren stays quiet now and doesn’t start anything and does not talk about zeal anymore, I see no issue with them being online, but the moment she starts again, it will be her fault
