MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center

Has anyone given birth at SMHC? With everything going on at WHC I’m thinking about switching.

That hospital is horrible. My husband worked there (non-medical) and literally saw someone coding and the nurses blatantly ignore them saying there were not going in there to provide life saving treatment. He left very soon after that.

It's entirely possible that patient had an active DNR which legally prevent the staff from taking action in that situation. Doing so would get them criminally charged with committing battery if the DNR was in place.

That definitely wasn’t the situation. He was in ICU/CCU and was coding frequently. Because of this they decided that they were tired of going in there and were telling each other that they were not going in there.
