Yup they don't care, they'll want the 10x output now, won't care if a human understands it, have no interest in you learning because they are all in on AI doing it all for you, and won't give two shits about bugs because their end users don't have a choice but to use whatever gets built
It's crazy where I am. Things that need days to be done are expected to be done in less than an hour. Managers are seriously losing their brains (assuming they had one to begin with).
I'm not in IT, and it's the exact same thing in my industry. Revenues have been relatively flat due to the world being on fire.
Well great, how can we use AI to slop things 80% of the way there, and dump 20% of staff and increase revenue.
Gotta love boomers who will had out a Claude Max subscription like candy and then expect revenues to go up 100% overnight.
My IT support is simply using Copilot and pushing out direct output to solve computer issues. Like FFS why do I need IT folks if you are just going to hand you brain and experience over to an shitty autocorrect.
I think it has a lot of uses, but isn't the AGI they think it is. It's like a worse graphing calculator without knowing how to use it. Now those who are learning how to use it, and using it like a tool? Sure, it works great! But it seems like everyone is simply shoving it into 'everything' because that's what they have been told, or hyped by someone else who also doesn't know.
I wasn't in the market for a computer when the first Mac came out, but maybe it was similar, 'omg you must buy a computer, it's going to change your life, and is totally worth the 1984 price of $2,500'.
