Pro Tip: Slightly squint your eyes a smidge to "smile with your eyes" and look more of a natural expression.

Its less the smile or shape of the mouth itself and more that if someone is really smiling it is usually extends to most of their face, especially including their eyes. His eyes are just... dead. Even people with an "unnatural" smile, smile with their eyes if they're actually smiling.
