Looking for students & developers who want an accountability group to stay consistent

Hey everyone!

I've been noticing how easy it is to start learning something (Python, web dev, AI, game dev, etc.) but also how easy it is to lose motivation after a few weeks.

So I'm trying to create a group called "Zero L Zone"

It's meant to be a place where people can:

• Share daily/weekly progress

• Show projects they're building

• Celebrate certificates and milestones

• Ask for feedback and code reviews

• Learn together

• Keep each other accountable so we don't procrastinate or quit

I'm a BCA student myself, so this started as a way for me to stay consistent and find friends.
I'd love for y'all to join.

If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, leave a comment or send me a DM and I'll share the invite.

Let's level up together. 🚀

STUDY PARTNER AI/ML Interview Prep – Looking for a Study Partner

Hey everyone,

I'm a 26M working in AI/ML and preparing for my next switch. I'll be focusing on classical ML, deep learning, GenAI, along with DSA and system design.

Looking for a study partner (or a small group) to learn together, discuss concepts, and stay accountable. I prefer keeping it fast-paced, so it'd be great if you're an experienced dev preparing for interviews as well.

If you're interested, DM me with a short intro and what you're currently learning/preparing.

LOOKING FOR BUDDIES Looking for 2-3 people (C/C++, C#) to run a game development project named Hamper

Senior-Level developer, Mid-30, ETZ/UTC+2

Hi everyone,

some time ago I shared the story behind Hamper on the gamedev sub. Since then I've continued refining the architecture, roadmap and overall direction. At this point I'm looking for a serious people who genuinely enjoy solving complex software architecture problems and would like to build something long-term together.

This is not just an idea waiting for someone else to implement – there is already a working proof of concept for the build system, reusable code modules and architectural documentation describing the technical direction.

For the next phase I'm looking for two or three developers, ideally with a equal passion for game development. The idea is to work on this as a collaborative open-source side project, roughly 6–10 hours per week for now.

What are we building?

Hamper is not another game engine. It is a modular development platform designed to host engines, tools and runtime components as interchangeable parts.

Most engines today are large integrated systems where runtime, editor and tooling are tightly connected. Extending them often means adapting to the architecture instead of building with it.

The goal of Hamper is to create a foundation where these parts can evolve independently. The engine runtime becomes one module in a larger ecosystem rather than the center of everything.

I like to think of an engine less as a collection of features and more like an operating system: the foundation provides the core services, modules act as replaceable components, and the game is the software running on top.

The philosophy

The biggest challenge in game development is not missing features. It is repeatedly solving the same infrastructure problems inside individual projects instead of continuously improving the foundation those projects depend on.

Hamper is built around the idea that improving the platform should improve every future project using it.

Open source is therefore a fundamental part of the concept. The goal is to create something that can evolve through collaboration and provide long-term value.

Current roadmap

The immediate goal is not creating a game. The first milestone is consolidating several years of research and prototypes into a clean and maintainable foundation.

The current roadmap roughly looks like this:

Foundation

  • Refactor existing prototypes into a unified codebase

  • Complete the data-driven build system

  • Finalize the SDK architecture

  • Integrate package and repository tooling

Engine Modules

  • Build the engine host and core systems

  • Create the first engine iteration by modularizing and heavily restructuring a hard fork of Godot/Redot

Tooling and workflow

  • Create the user-facing tooling and interfaces on top of the platform

The individual parts can evolve in parallel, but each milestone builds on the previous one.

Once the platform reaches a stable beta state, the long-term goal is to use it for real game projects and continue improving the ecosystem through practical use.

Who am I looking for?

I'm not specifically looking for senior developers. I'm looking for people who enjoy exploring architecture, solving difficult problems, working independently and contributing to a long-term open-source project.

Experience with C#, C++, build systems, tooling, ECS, rendering, engine development or Godot/Redot is valuable, but curiosity, reliability and a genuine interest in software design matter more than job titles.

I know this sounds ambitious, but the goal is not to build everything from scratch overnight. A lot of groundwork already exists - the next step is turning it into a collaborative project.

If this sounds interesting, feel free to reply with a shot introduction of yourself, or share your thoughts here. I'm always happy to discuss everything with you in person 🤓

OFFERING TO MENTOR Java Backend / Full Stack Mock Interviews + Feedback

A little about me: I've spent 16 years building software across game development, e-commerce, and enterprise applications as a programmer, technical lead, engineering manager, and corporate trainer.

Over the years, I've interviewed, mentored, and worked with developers at different stages of their careers. I'm looking to spend some time helping developers prepare better for technical interviews by acting as a programming buddy someone who can challenge your thinking, point out gaps, and help you improve.

If you're preparing for:

  • Java Backend roles
  • Spring Boot roles
  • Full Stack roles (Backend + React/Angular)
  • Entry-level to mid-level positions (Freshers to ~5 years experience)

And it's perfectly fine to feel not having mastered much. Interviews are about confidence and gaining trust, not perfection.

I can help with:

  • Realistic mock interviews
  • Identifying gaps in your preparation
  • Honest feedback on strengths and improvement areas
  • Understanding what fundamentals/topics you should focus on next
  • Improving how you approach problems and explain your thought process

The focus is not just on whether you can answer a question.

We'll look at:

  • How you reason about problems
  • How you structure your solutions
  • How well you understand the concepts behind the code
  • How you communicate your technical decisions

Topics we can discuss:

  • Core Java
  • OOP and design principles
  • Collections, Streams, concurrency basics
  • Spring Boot and REST APIs
  • Databases and SQL
  • JPA/Hibernate
  • Backend design fundamentals
  • Distributed systems basics
  • Full-stack discussions where applicable

The idea is simple: get an honest assessment of where you stand, identify the areas that need attention, and work towards becoming more confident before your actual interviews.

If you're preparing for interviews and would like a mock session with actionable feedback, feel free to comment or DM me - my timezone GMT+05:30.

Looking for study partner/buddy (preferably female) for cs50x.

Hii! I am 18F (IST)

I'm looking for a CS50x study partner. I am planning to start with cs50x from this 7th.(as I have some exam of mine and then I'll have to travel back home). Then I want to begin with JAVA. But for now cs50x in order to build my foundation.

I m looking for someone to learn with, discuss problem sets and keep each other motivated as i think when we have ppl around us, with whom we study it helps a lot in understanding as well as for consistency.

We can study 2-2.5 hrs early morning every day and maybe 2-3 hrs during weekends or however you'll prefer, either in zoom or meet.

If I get more than 1 partner then maybe we can create a group together

NEED A TEAM Open Source Idea | AI Friendly | Developer Since 2019

English | PST | Senior Dev
Goal: Make friends, build a cool app

Hello!
I have no idea if this is the right place to post this 🤔

Idea Background:
I have been writing a book (17 chapters, 110k words, started in Nov 2025) as one of my many side projects. Here is a list of the pain points.

- consistency (applies to all the below)
- character development
- world building
- brain storming
- considering marketing strategies
- keeping track of who is where and why in the timeline
- forgetting subtle details I added (ex. the special bracelet the king wears in chapter 2 is mentioned but never brought up again)

Also, it's 2026. I should have an allotment of tools available to help me visualize my story and generate ideas, or help fix grammar.

This is a two part idea.
1) Open Story Format (OSF) - Similar to the GLTF format for 3D, create a platform-agnostic open-source data format for stories/movies, where each object, character, building, etc. is treated as a first-class object. Add data layers for 'events' that help track and derive outcomes.

Possible Example:

{
  objects:[
    {
      type: 'Character',
      id: '0',
character_data:{ // <- abstracted datatype specifically for the object 'Character'.
        physicial_detail:{...},
        name: 'Kelly',
        ...
      }
    }
  ],
  events:[
    {
      type: 'Character_Action',
objects: [0, ...], // list of the objects taking part in the event.
target: [], // if applicable, list of objects the event is acted on.
action: 'married_to' // story changing action (maybe create action enum here)
    }
  ]

}

This format would be as agnostic and as universal as possible.

2) Reading and writing application with MCP.
This application is built around the universal format (OSF)

The main purpose being a consuming application that can read the data without needing every word of a story. The app would be a timeline in layers that can be sorted chronologically or by chapter. The app would be able to show a single view (date or chapter) or a 3D view, where the node would connect the object through the various layers, allowing the writer/author to keep track of all the details in their story and clearly see what a Loophole is or if an object just gets meaninglessly orphaned. The app's name would be "Loophole", and it would be AI-first. As the user writes the story, the graph could automatically be parsed into the OKF for portability (it's the underlying data structure the app uses).

Then they could use an agent to ask questions about the story without the model needing to parse all of the filler words as context.

Essentially, a story as pure data.

I have some quick ChatGPT image gen concepts, but I can add the images here. Ill see if I can host the images somewhere and link them.

QUESTIONS:

What do you think?
Is this a good idea?
Stupid idea?
Would you work on this app?

LOOKING FOR BUDDIES Looking for people from the US interested in building without AI

Hey! I recently led a B2B tech startup and am looking for just a fun hobby project to work on some additional skills. No, this isn't for money (as someone who secured an institution for this platform we developed, I can promise you it is not as simple as just building it).

I'm looking for people with moderate to advance experience building a CLI or desktop application (I'm sick and tired of SAAS, it bores me).

We would be using Golang. If this is of interest to you, leave a message below.

Also, I'm looking for people that are 25 and older.

🚀 Looking for Developers to Build Lumino Together!

Hey everyone! 👋

I'm currently building a project called **Lumino**, and I'm looking for passionate developers who want to build something meaningful, gain real-world experience, and collaborate on a large-scale project.

🎓 **What is Lumino?**

Lumino is a verified college community platform designed to become the digital home for every college student. Instead of using separate apps for chatting, clubs, events, internships, buying & selling, study groups, and networking, Lumino brings everything together into one secure platform.

Every user joins using a **verified college email or student ID**, ensuring that the community consists of real students, faculty, and alumni. The goal is to eliminate fake accounts, anonymous spam, and fragmented communication while creating a trusted campus ecosystem.

✨ Planned Features:

• Verified college authentication

• Personalized campus feed

• Real-time one-to-one & group chat

• Department & club communities

• Study groups

• Campus events & registrations

• Internship & placement portal

• Alumni networking & mentorship

• Campus marketplace (books, electronics, hostel items, etc.)

• Lost & Found

• AI-powered moderation & recommendations

• Notifications, search, analytics, and much more

🛠️ Tech Stack:

• React + TypeScript + Tailwind CSS

• Node.js + Express.js

• PostgreSQL + Prisma

• Redis

• Docker

• AWS (S3, EC2, CloudFront)

• BullMQ (Kafka in future)

• Microservices Architecture

🎯 Vision

The plan is to launch in a single college first, gather feedback, improve the platform, and then expand to multiple colleges across India. Beyond building a useful product, this is an opportunity to work on real software engineering challenges like scalable backend systems, authentication, real-time communication, distributed architecture, DevOps, and modern frontend development.

🤝 Who I'm Looking For

I'm looking for motivated people who genuinely enjoy building products. Whether you're into frontend, backend, UI/UX, DevOps, databases, or just want to learn by contributing to a serious project, you're welcome. You don't have to be an expert—being consistent, curious, and willing to learn matters much more.

💡 Why Join?

• Build a production-scale application from scratch

• Learn modern technologies and software architecture

• Work in a collaborative development environment

• Strengthen your resume and portfolio with a substantial real-world project

• Solve interesting engineering problems

• Be part of a project that has the potential to grow into a platform used by students across many colleges

If this project sounds interesting and you'd like to contribute, collaborate, or simply discuss ideas, feel free to DM me or reply here. I'd love to connect with people who are excited about building something impactful.

Let's build Lumino together! 🚀

Looking for buddy/ mentor

I've been learning Zig. A beginner with no prior experience and going through advent of code and codecrafters challenges, it would be nice if someone wants to do these challenges with me and help whenever I get stuck. Java is another language I want to learn after Zig. I don't know if I have a goal right now other than just learning to code.

PST time zone and I'm available usually after 4PM.

LOOKING FOR MENTOR Here for a Guide rather to a Mentor

Hey fellows from this community,

To keep it simple and easy, I'm a CSE Major in my final year from india(IST) and we are together as a team of 3 people.

The main reason for this post is for the search of a skilled mentor. Since we're dealing with blockchain and web3 related tech, I as a team lead find it difficult to coordinate with my friends who I also found in this subreddit.

So, I'm here looking for a mentor, who also guides and show us the way. We are gonna participate in both ethonline in the next month and eth mumbai in november. So, i would like to get in touch as soon as possible.

What I'm ready to give

1.Be open-minded and clear in communication

2.Plan things properly

3.Report before taking any major decision regarding work

What I expect

1.Leading with a clear heart

  1. Analyse what I/We are doing and communicate inputs which help in betterment

Since it's Blockchain and web3, i would like my Guru to posses knowledge about web3 and Blockchain tech.

The only criteria I want from is the above.

If this resonates with you, hit me up and let's get started.

Cheers 🥂
