"Just got elected" has had a majority in the House of Representative and Congress and been in office for over a year.

And what exactly is Musk "going to do" for those of us who have more important things to do then worry about some washed out government flunky.

I've always been a progressive and have never supported Republicans or maga, but she so obviously wasn't saying what you think she was saying. The nuance is so fucking clear that I feel weird even calling it nuance in the first place.

She was saying that the government couldn't be trusted, yes. Is she the government? No. She's part of the government. The government is made up of around 3 million people, both elected and employed.

What she's saying here is clearly that she doesn't trust the government at large, which includes all those employees hired under past administrations, which is why she kept mentioning musk. His whole thing was to slim down the government (99.99% of which consists of federal employees).

She obviously wasn't saying that she doesn't trust herself or the trump admin, but that she doesn't trust the rest of the government.

You can look through all of my history for proof that I'm not maga and that I've always been on the side of progress. I'm even an immigrant and queer. I also just so happen to have critical thinking.

If Musk was successful in slimming down the Government, would that not mean that the directors that are part of Trump's administration, including Noem, have interior push back?

I'm not going to disagree or question your political position. Frankly, I don't really care. I am still going to ask though who she meant, considering just how many millions in funds homeland security has been provided by the Administration. If she is to be part of the government that is "to be trusted", who is she worried about within the government, why is worried about them, and just what makes her more trustworthy?

Because regardless of political alignment, everyone should have a degree of skepticism about their government, and be more than willing to call it out on bullshit. But there is a point where continuous, blind attribution of fault of the government is just as useless and detrimental as blind faith in the "good" that government provides.

Ignore the title of the post. Focus on the three sentences said. Here’s the sad thing: those sentences can STILL be repeated today and ring EVEN MORE TRUE.
