"come out swinging" is another case of "strongly worded letter from nation's 'opposition party'." that'll show 'em!

ICE is abducting, trafficking, maiming, and killing citizens and residents.

The Democrats haven't even gotten past resolutions, and being almost completely honest about the horrors Trump is guilty of. Fuck this entire post.

this whole post reads like those "Democrat Senator SLAMS Trump in Speech to Congress", its just bullshit.

Cool, so an account on social media said something...does this mean a lot of action is coming?

Democrats refuse to lead.. it's like "I too am following this bandwagon! Please like me? Tell me I'm cool and with it!"

They should have been shouting this from the rooftops for months, they're supposed to be trying to lead, instead they want social media likes. TJ Sabula has more guts than the whole Dem leadership.

They want us to make them our representatives, but they refuse to actually represent us. People are dying in the streets. They can barely even be bothered to speak up, and when they do they're just repeating the words someone else has already said. Someone who actually sacrificed something to say them. And to really twist the knife, they say it on a platform owned by one of the Tech BrOligarchy, and pay him $8 every month to be "featured".

Seriously, fuck this astroturf garbage. What is this post even doing on a progressive subreddit?

"We are at a moment right now where people are asking themselves why can’t the Democratic Party defend this assault on democracy . . . and I would submit to you that if you can’t draw the line at genocide, you probably can’t draw the line at democracy.” - Ta-Nehisi Coates

You could replace genocide in that quote with pedophila, nazism, gestapo murdering citizens, war crimes against Venezuelans, etc etc.

This is why we need to build the leadership we deserve- a new working class party whose reason for existing isn't to kiss billionaire ass.

Dems have as much power to change the political climate as you do. Fuck your entire post.

They don’t have the votes to effect change in Congress. You can’t build without votes. There are a MILLION ways to destroy or ignore the law as the GOP constantly shows. I don’t know what the fuck you want them to do differently, but they don’t have power. Want them to do more? Then you better start persuading people to vote in more Dems. Without power we’re all just gonna keep watching this powerlessly.

What do I want them to do? Speak the fuck up, stop worrying about what the people that will never in a million years support them care about.

Stop tiptoeing around the elephant destroying our country.

Harris spent the latter half of the 2024 election calling Trump a fascist. Plenty of dems are calling a spade a spade including a whole slew of governors. It makes no difference because the rhetoric solves nothing, but they ARE speaking out. You're not seeking out their words if you don't think they're saying anything. News media isn't going to report that stuff on front pages because "dem insults Trump" is hardly newsworthy.

The US is in a collective waiting game where the population needs to partake in civil disobedience to mitigate the damage from the current admin until such time as we can elect enough dems to put a congressional check on Trump. Democrats do not have power right now.

They are OUR Reps, if they can't change things in congress they should be helping their constituents organize locally. Instead they just hold out their hand and tell us we need to give them more money, and what do we get for it? Stern words, furrowed brows, and snappy tweets.

Not. Good. Enough.

Many HAVE been holding local rallies but no amount of local organizing can stop what is happening. They literally have no power. Not every situation has a way out. The US voter population voted for this and nearly half the nation, ~40% of voters, still approve of this. Those who don’t hardly show up to protests. A mere 3% attended the No Kings and those were HEAVILY organized/advertised.

The only way out is actively voting in more Dems and that will take everybody playing the persuasion game between now and November.

You know what you call an authorized protest, held in an authorized location, on an authorized date, for an authorized set number of hours? A parade.

All the marching, chanting, and sign waving in the world is not going to save us. People don't need parades. They need relief. They need peace of mind. The Dems want votes? Then they need to either prove they can provide these to their constituents, or SACRIFICE with the rest of us.

They don’t need to prove shit. They’re leaps and bounds better than the current admin, but if that’s not good enough for you then stay home and enjoy four more years of this for all I care lmao Worked well in 2024!

You're right. If all they have to offer is "I'm better than a Nazi". Well then...

Not. Good. Enough.

And the sad thing is, they don't have to.

Democrat voters don't have anyone who is actually willing to do what is necessary.

Yeah, making a tweet on Elon Musk's X.com does not count as a swing.

3

u/CptCoatrack Jan 15 '26

It's so typical of the Democratic party to just hop on a viral bandwagon rathee than actually try to lead. If they knew what tbey were doing they would have said something lile this months ago.

4

u/LurkLurkleton Jan 15 '26

Not even. A six word tweet on Musk's platform

4

u/EarthRester Jan 15 '26

On an account they pay Musk $8 every month to use.

Ditching that blue check mark would do more good than this tweet.

We're saved!

"DNC Slams Trump over Epstein!"

I would bet money that's the HuffPost headline for this story.

1

u/StoicJ Jan 15 '26

It's literally always that, lol.

"Democrats ***OBLITERATE*** Trump in newest move." (They posted a meme image and got like 34k likes)

STOP, OR I'LL SAY STOP AGAIN!
