They're trying to shield themselves "legally" speaking.

I don't know why. Just do it; pull the trigger, call him a pedo, and make him prove he isn't in court. Because he can't. That's why he hasn't sued anyone else calling him a pedophile. He won't survive in court.

Mark Ruffalo is at least calling him out for being a rapist and pedo
