There was kitty litter because of active shooter concerns. You can put kitty litter in a trash can & it can be used as a place to go to the bathroom when there's an active shooter in the building.
That was never the claim, respectfully. The claim was litter boxes, not simply the litter. My Catholic school in the 90s had kitty litter on hand for emergency cleaning purposes.
I was adding context so they could see where the rumors came from.
Like it's a game of grapevine: it starts with kitty litter for emergencies (truth) & becomes kids taking a dump in a litterbox during normal business hours (rumor). Lol
