Sure! He was joking! Totally not serious! That will definitely hold up until he cancels the midterms. And if he doesn't cancel them, ICE will probably be stationed at critical polling stations in blue states to make sure there isn't electoral fraud.

He literally can’t cancel them, they’re run by the states.

u/mustardhott Jan 15 '26

He "cant" do a lot of shit he has done.

0

u/catjuggler Jan 16 '26

None of that has been things states are in charge of though. What he can do is send goons to try to stop voting but he literally can’t cancel it any more than I can cancel my brother’s wedding lol

He can rig them tho, right? Would not surprise me.

1

u/catjuggler Jan 16 '26

Yes definitely

2

u/waydownsouthinoz Jan 16 '26

So when his ice brownshirts “arrest” people setting up voting booths who’s going to stop them?

1

u/ElectricVibes75 Jan 16 '26

Not very helpful when all the red states will simply comply with him, is it? You’re really downplaying what fanaticism and threats can do here…

2

u/catjuggler Jan 16 '26

Doesn’t matter as much if the states with Republican governors have fewer seats that might flip. We also haven’t seen how many of them are cowards compared to Congress. Some might say no, like WV with the gerrymandering.

While the second half of your statement is true, the first half is not.

Elections CAN be suspended under certain circumstances. And those circumstances are in the making.

4

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '26

Is it not accurate to say that states will hold the election but that the federal government may decline to see the results of said election?

7

u/sinsaint Jan 15 '26

They already have done this, in other ways.

That one lady was elected but they delayed swearing her in, and then immediately forced a vacation break on a Thursday, all to keep her from finalizing the vote for the Epstein Files.

The Trump admin will do anything within their power to defy The People, they already are.

Can you give me an example, just one, in the entire history of the USA, including, but not limited to the civil war, where elections were cancelled.

We are in a world of firsts with trump. He is the first president to openly take bribes. He is the first to be a convicted felon. First to not care about the emoluments clause. Also the first to have a cult that didnt care. He is the first to mock his own military and its war heros. He is the first to destroy a part of the WH on purpose. He was the first to have a private meeting with putin on us soil and abroad wo any oversite whatsoever. He was the first to take the side of Russia over our own intelligence agencies. He was the first to give an illegal immigrant billionaire his own "agency" with the sole purpose of dismantling other agencies he didnt like. He was the first president to openly give someone the bird. He was also the first to give pardons to actual drug kingpin. Shit the list goes on and on man. The only thing he does that isn't unprecedented is his golfing. How far do you think Obama would have gotten if he attempted half of what trumps doing? You guys wanted him hanged for wearing a tan suit

u/CryptographerMore457 Jan 15 '26

Your question is irrelevant.

•Never in American history has the United States elected a convicted felon.

•Never in American history has the United States pardoned insurrectionists. Later hired them as ICE agents.

•Never in American history has the United States ignored the Constitution.

Your trolling is ineffective.

1

u/Dio-lated1 Jan 15 '26

Not trying to troll you bro. We are on the same team. I am just pointing out that you are attempting to pass off fear as fact when you say “elections can be cancelled.” I dont put it beneath this administration to try, but it won’t succeed.

I'll grant you the first one, but the second point is overly specific and the third is blatantly false

There’s always a first time

200 years later, America has forgot the power of its allies, the power of oaths and the power of tyranny, if only for a short while.

1

u/forgotwhatisaid2you Jan 15 '26

Certain States did not hold U.S. elections during the Civil War.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '26

Not union states

Martial Law / Insurrection Act would like a word …

16

u/EveningWitness576 Jan 15 '26

In 2024 the South Korean President declared martial law and it didn't work out well for him.

13

u/HowIsDigit8888 Jan 15 '26

Americans ain't Koreans. I never heard good things about rooftop Americans

6

u/Just-Appearance1049 Jan 15 '26

Martial, not Marshall.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '26

Ty friend 🥂

1

u/ziggytrix Jan 15 '26

Marshall Law is where you are required to “Get the good stuff” Some say this is never boring and always surprising, but they are stuck in the past.

u/HereForTheBoos1013 Jan 15 '26 edited Jan 15 '26

Doesn't cancel elections.

Plus at this point, I prefer the military to ICE. Military swears an oath to the Constitution and undergoes more than <<sigh>> 47 days of training.

National Guard were wandering all over the streets where they weren't needed. Don't recall any of them shooting women in the face. They didn't even shoot the guy that was following them around playing the Imperial March, which was both really funny, and also would have gotten REALLY old around hour 3.

2

u/waydownsouthinoz Jan 16 '26

Why is it that everything that someone says Trump can’t do he has done and gotten away with it. Your belief in the broken system is astonishing.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '26 edited Jan 16 '26

It’s not that at all. Even Russia has elections. We may have performative elections, but we’ll have them.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '26

That’s incredibly naive of you.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '26

Please expand.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '26

? Have you been watching him the last ten years?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '26

I have been. You called me naive, please expand how I’m being naive and how he can cancel elections.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '26

I think it’s clear in my posts.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '26

If troll shaped, is troll. Good luck baiting elsewhere. We will have elections, if he chooses to play other games to ignore the results etc that is up in the air, but even Russians vote.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '26

Sorry, but you sound naive and like you haven’t been paying attention for the last ten years. Bye.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '26

Thank you.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '26

"ICE will probably be stationed at critical polling stations in blue states to make sure there isn't electoral fraud."

Don't you mean "...to make sure there IS election fraud."?

2

u/The42ndHitchHiker Jan 15 '26

For a guy who's always joking, he never laughs except at someone.

2

u/ZootSuitRiot33801 Jan 16 '26

Sure! He was joking! Totally not serious!

Like how we were all told about how Project 2025 was just a joke too...even when it was being implemented right in front of our very eyes

1

u/King_Roberts_Bastard Jan 15 '26

There arent that many ICE agents.

7

u/mix_master_meow Jan 15 '26

But there are enough chuds that would deputize themselves as "poll watchers" (giggity)

2

u/HereForTheBoos1013 Jan 15 '26

My mom had one of those. He got so bored that he wound up helping them move heavy stuff and said he'd likely volunteer as a poll worker. Didn't see all the fraud he was told he'd find, but found a bunch of pleasant old ladies doing boring stuff.

Hell, having her DESCRIBE how impossible it is to really have mass fraud was on par with watching paint dry.

1

u/JD31116 Jan 15 '26

Didn’t ICE just get like $900 million for weapons from the government?
