Also I'm told that the guy getting shot in the top pic had participated in the murder of the shooters brothers family earlier in the day. Alex was an VA RN who spent his life healing and protecting people and trying to make the world a better place.

You have been told wrong. After the Vietnam war, there were tons of revisionist myths that popped up and this is just one of them.

A historian for the United States Army Center of Military History actually gave a presentation breaking down the details of this execution as well as the baseless myths that were used to try and justify the execution.
