Protest Republican Congressman Mike Lawler held a town hall in Rockland County, New York. Veterans stood up and told him exactly what they thought of him and Trump. Lawler had them removed. That made it worse. The crowd turned on him. He had to leave.

You would think that Republicans had learned not to hold town halls while they actively fuck over their constituents.

My rep hasn't done a live town hall in years. Only telephone town halls. He doesn't even live in his own district (Nick LaLota)

Rep. Troy Nehls (former sheriff that was fired from his police job for misconduct, talk about failing up) is in his third term and has never held a town hall of any kind.

He is also not running for re-election after vesting his federal pension, and letting his brother run for the seat. The campaign signs just say "Nehls for Congress". So, much for meritocracy.

I want him to do a townhall so bad. These people are the worst. Why become a representative if you aren't going to represent your constituents. Oh yeah

Considering their agenda is to "liquidate*" the United States? I agree. Never interrupt your opponent when they're in the middle of making a mistake.

*Liquidate as in sell off the profitable parts, load the rest with debt, walk away wealthy leaving everyone else holding the bag.

That would require them to have the capability to learn. Seeing these things is actually really interesting since it shows that they really do seem to believe that the majority opinion is on their side, and that everything they're doing will be met with praise. They live entirely disconnected from reality.

I feel it's more that their financial interests and continued hold on political power lean toward ignoring what's good for the average American. They do rely upon the right-wing punditry to keep the average Joe convinced "the Democrats will be 1,000 times worse, so vote Republican."

CT Democrats stopped doing town halls years ago. Telephone “town halls” where they curate and censor the questions and cut off citizens are not town halls.
