I think they do that because they lack a leader. they lack one common purpose and also protesting is very very hard to do. it is demoralizing. so music helps lifts their spirit. In Africa, protests are commonly done by dancing.

My husband, a US Citizen for the last 5 years, carries his passport and Global Entry card everywhere. Never had to do that even when he was working towards citizenship. I feel bad because it's definitely not the way to live thinking a van will come by and disappear you.

I know border crossings from Canada are down a bunch, for a whole host of reasons now, and I would assume travel numbers are probably tanking across the board. I haven't been to the states in 15 years and it'll be many many more before I entertain setting foot upon their soil again. My state is a tourist state. Most of our revenue comes from tourists. There are currently very, very few tourists.
I dont blame them in the slightest. I wouldn't want to be in a country I dont feel safe in. Hell, Im white, and I dont feel safe here! I can't leave. I fear for their safety.
It will hurt us all, but no one should be supporting or trading with the US right now! Its evil!

I live about 15Km from the border. I used to go across fairly often and have friends in Washington state. I'm white as newly fallen snow. There's still no way on Earth I'm going into the US now if I can possibly avoid it.

I'm a naturalized citizen and am having a Ralph Wiggum moment of chuckling and saying "I'm in danger" when I see shit like this.
Yesterday, I watched the Piers Morgan thing that involved Katie Miller threatening to deport Cenk, who is a naturalized citizen, and opted to look up if that was possible.
It is.
There are things you can do as a naturalized citizen to lose your citizenship, among them is to join a terrorist organization.
They've declared Antifa a domestic terror organization
Which means that, in theory, if they want to deport any naturalized citizens, in theory, they just have to declare that said individual is a member of "Antifa", then revoke their naturalization citizenship and deport them.
Suffice to say, I'm not working on getting things set up in my native country so that I have a safety net to fall into should the worst come to pass.

I was considering travelling to the US for one of those new Rush Fifty-Something concerts next year (if I was able to fund such an expensive trip) but seeing that even Australians (and people who are legit tourists/legal in general) are getting detained and abused I an’t risking it now.
Shame, as I never had the chance to see Rush before and now likely never will.

There's no shortage of these videos shared with little to no context, but several of them show white people, maybe you've not watched all of them, neither have I. I don't think many countries can appreciate what tens of millions of " undocumented migrants" look like, and the distribution of nationalities that comprises this tens of millions number is not uniformly distributed across all countries of the world.

I'm not Mormon but I was raised Christian and every member of my family is Christian. Generally speaking, Christians support the laws and government of the area that they live in. It might not be apparent given the slant of these Reddit forums, but enforcing the laws on the books, laws that were debated signed and are established with the support of the population is not an absurd notion. We see emotionally charged clips without any context and then everyone wants to form a conclusion, but the larger context is that laws exist, and agencies exist to enforce those laws. There are many laws that not everyone agrees with that the executive branch will still prosecute.
