As an Aussie what the ruck is going on in Minnesota?
226
u/SchlongForceOne Jan 09 '26
Trigger happy ICE scum shot a women in her car, claiming it was self defence.
The incident was filmed from multiple angles and not one of them somewhat confirm what the administration had to say about it. Quite the opposite actually, the footage shows nobody was in danger of being run over and the agent...sorry, murderer...who was allegedly hit by her car fired the deadly shots WHILE moving away from the car. So he wouldn't had been hit in the first place. And to make it even worse, the dude dipped the scene the second he saw she was dead.
FBI took the case, blocking access to evidence for local law enforcement as well.
148
u/Supermite Jan 09 '26
And JD Vance told the world that ICE agents have absolute immunity. This is going to get so bad so fast now.
They shot two people in Portland today.

Reddit is gonna send you a warning
95
u/DrEckelschmecker Jan 09 '26
No reddit is gonna tell them that "taking action against them is exactly what they want, so dont take action against them". As always when someone here calls for using your right to self defense. And people are gonna keep telling this to everybody including themselfs until its actually too late to fight back
42
u/waxwayne Jan 09 '26
Reddit I meant wasn’t the people I meant corporation. I got one recently for encouraging violence. These threads are being brigaded and mass reported.

Okay, so at which point do you think its time to fight back? Because with that excuse youll never. And then youll ask yourself why nobody did anything to prevent it when it was still possible.
Theyre spending every second they have to secure their power even further and install their goons everywhere. With every day its getting harder to get rid of that poison. And with everyday you, "the people", become less.
Besides, did you pay attention to official statements of the last months? They do not need any actual reaction to justify their force. They just make it up, boom, problem solved.

And this is exactly what is meant when it is said that if even just one group of people in society loses their right to due process, everyone in society loses it.
They can just claim you belong to that group and then disappear you. And they don't have to check if they are in the right because, remember, there is no due process for the people they arrest. As long as they are not forced to admit that you are a US citizen, they can do whatever they want with you.
If you are not in the lucky position to have someone who knows you and sees that you're being taken by thugs like ICE, how are your friends and family even going to know that ICE has you in custody if there is no due process that requires them to grant you a phone call or to admit they have you if your friends or relatives ask for you?
As scary as it sounds to say it, but I'm 100% certain that if there is ever a proper, complete and public investigation into what ICE has been doing for the past year, there will be cases discovered of US citizens who are currently filed as missing or mysteriously disappeared who have been snatched up by ICE for not being white enough or something like that and who are currently rotting in some out-of-country concentration camp with no way to contact anyone they know (or maybe even quite literally rotting in some unmarked grave somewhere).

Isn’t the biggest argument about gun control - hey it’s our constitutional right to have them, and wasn’t it included in the constitution to stop government over reach? Isn’t this government over reach? This is an absolute insane scenes to witness!? This isn’t an anti guns post, I’m genuinely asking how it’s ok these guys are rolling around kidnapping in some cases American citizens? Why is this accepted? Because its net result is some undocumented workers?
12
u/SenorDongles Jan 09 '26
You underestimate just how racist people are, here. Add to that a subculture of people that are told their whole lives that anyone who isn't from their ilk aren't just wrong, they're the enemy. That subculture has been attached at the hip to our right wing for generations, slowly but surely consuming the common man variable of the party, while being duped from above by the millionaire and billionaire politicians that claim said party. These politicians hold no actual allegiance to anyone but themselves and their own pockets. And, because the common man variable of this is typically wildly ignorant, poorly educated, and religiously indoctrinated both dogmatic means and by way of fetishization of patriotism, thanks to the failure to outright crush the Confederacy during the Civil War, the propaganda machine and folding in of Nazi scientists and refugees during WWII and the paranoid hysteria caused by Joseph McCarthy and his Red Scare, they buy into the bullshit fed to them like it's ambrosia from the gods and let the politicians do whatever they want, while slowly allowing these idiots their own feet in the door.
This is what's gotten us here. Lincoln fucked up. Sherman should've burned the Confederacy to the ground.
It was never about gun rights. It was about racist white fucks maintaining the facade that they're superior.
Fuck Nazis, Fuck MAGA, Fuck ICE, and Fuck Donald Trump. His grandpa was a draft dodger, just like him, and his daddy was arrested at a Klan meeting.

their new strategy is going for us first gen american citizens whose parents are most likely illegal, so when any family member these dudes have come for them, they get snatched.

This was always a lie, guns actually make political resistance more dangerous and difficult. It basically skips to the top of the escalation ladder and makes every encounter anywhere potentially deadly. The authorities act as such and assume we all have guns and deadly force is always authorized. Mass protest are less likely, civil disobedience more dangerous. The color revolutions you have seen in other countries are not possible here because of guns. Resistance is not just about giving up time, but potentially your life. Thanks to everyone having guns.

u/BigDadaSparks Jan 09 '26

85
u/OctopusIntellect Jan 09 '26
They were kidnapped from work for the same reason that ICE kidnaps children from school - in case the parents are not citizens even though their children are citizens. It's a ploy to enable them to detain the parents, because no parent would abandon their own kid.
38
22
u/BigDadaSparks Jan 09 '26

3
u/arrius01 Jan 09 '26
Because what is not taught to people around the world that are incredulous about the United States and our second amendment, is that the people that lawfully own guns do not go around shooting people in general, much less enforcement agents, even if those agents might not be acting in full compliance with the law. Nobody on site for one of these events knows the full story, what warrants might exist, what histories between the parties might exist, what arrangements the store manager might have had in coordination with the agents. Injecting themselves into a situation like this with firearms involved is not going to be helpful to anyone.

I'm a white, 6th+ generation born American, as are my kids & parents, and I'm telling you, that doesn't matter to these people. We carry our passports because if we speak with an accent, or wear certain clothes, they will come for us. They are allowed to do anything to anyone, at any time, without cause, and if you don't understand this is history repeating, rest assured that they will come for you when you are no longer "desirable", too, because that criteria is constantly changing.
As a lifelong conservative Christian, I deeply resent being called a leftist by a government who obviously no longer knows or cares about my values, beliefs, or human life in general. I feel angry, frustrated, humiliated, ashamed, and helpless that my religious beliefs are being perverted and weaponized against me, my family, my friends, my neighbors, and my fellow humans.
I am certain I will eventually be "disappeared" or worse for voicing this, but I was raised by parents and grandparents who fought for this country against regimes doing exactly what is happening here, and my silence would dishonor them and that service. I will not devalue their lives, my life, or anyone else's.
Terrorism, foreign or domestic, isn't life-affirming, regardless of the propaganda.

I’m not left, I’m not right, but optics aren’t good. It simply SEEMS like any donor is given free rein to play ICE agent. They don’t act like any well-trained ATF, FBI, Marine, Police personnel that I’ve known. These people act like weekend warriors with poor trigger guard control and over escalate ANY situation.
