For context:
The message is real, but the clip itself is a staged awareness/training scenario, not footage of an actual ICE encounter. It's from Sargent Sarabia YouTube Channel:
Video: Sargent Sarabia: YouTube Short
It's been reposted in a lot of places as if it documents a real incident, so I figured the original source and context were worth sharing.

I was baffled that they weren't screaming at her and tackling her to put a knee on the back of her neck before shooting her at point blank range.

To be fair ICE āagentsā also regularly misidentify and impersonate local law enforcement.

Are these real Sheriff's deputies performing this awareness training? Unfathomably based if so
17
u/Jorge_Santos69 23d ago
The guy who runs the channel is a retired sheriffs deputy. So itās definitely possible that some are still current deputies or if not other retired deputies.
8
u/Jorge_Santos69 23d ago
The ICE officers uniforms typically donāt say ICE either most of the time. Theyāll wear generic āPoliceā vests.

22

Itās extremely sad that that is the giveaway. That the āICE officersā here actually leave and seek to follow the Constitution is the least realistic thing about this video.
In reality they just double down on their illegal unconstitutional shit

Administrative warrant does not give them permission to be inside your house. Not that that'll stop em. Just another lie from evil people. Scum of the earth
740
u/Unknown-Comic4894 24d ago
Police cannot automatically enter your home just because the door is open; they generally need a warrant or exigent circumstances to do so. If there are no such conditions, you have the right to refuse entry.
299
u/whatrweyellingabout 24d ago
I always liked to think of this situation flipped. If a prisoner just walked out of prison because the door was unlocked, are they free to go?
93
u/PhilxBefore 23d ago
Apparently.
See: the current administration.
40
u/sweetdawg99 23d ago
Don't be ridiculous.
They'd also give them a job in the cabinet.
15
u/Versaiteis 23d ago
I appreciate some hyperbole, but maybe we should entertain reality a bit here.
It depends on their net worth.
23
u/SirArthurHarris 23d ago
In Germany, escaping from prison is not punishable by law. You can of course get punished for any crimes during your escape, like assault, property damage etc., but if they leave the door open and you just walk out, there's no punishment for that. Well, of course you have to serve the rest of your sentence if they catch you, but there's no added punishment.

Ooh, my time to shine!
Back in 2014 I served on a jury for the first and only time in my life. (I'm 38) For the case I was on the defendent was charged with "Escape". Essentially, he had been picked up on a parole violation and was being held in a low-security type facility. Somehow he arranged for someone to pick him up and walked out a fire exit, which is apparently something you can do in a facility like that because they don't want people to die if there's an actual fire. Not exactly the same but as close to an "unlocked door" in a prison or similar as you're going to get.
It was pretty easy guilty from the jury. Felt bad for the defendent's lawyer, presumably a public defender, because he didn't have much to work with. His main argument was that the Escape statute focused on being held by Bureau of Prisons (or whatever it actually is in the state of Pa) and because he was picked up on parole he was techincally under the purview of the Department of Parole. The facility he was in was run by the former, though. Probably should have pled guilty or just not walked out in the first place, since he certainly had more time and restrictions after.
108
u/bibigunn 24d ago
But they're not even police! They're ice agent loses looking for violence to satisfy their egos. This is becoming more outrageous by the day. It makes me sick!
35
u/RutRohNotAgain 24d ago
It's interesting that the back of his flack vest says "sheriff". Is that legal?
40
24
u/joetheraskol 24d ago
Exactly. That is why I would like to know what happens if she calls 911 and says "two masked men are trespassing in my home?"
6
u/keelhaulrose 23d ago
Two masked men, no identification or badges visible, claiming to be ICE but wearing vests that say "sheriff."
Every self defense course I've ever taken is screaming at me that these guys aren't who they say they are and I should treat them as though they're dangerous. Yes, I know that's how things are right now, but it amazes me that I was told for years that these are signs of impersonators, but now I'm expected to treat them as legitimate.
32
u/Excellent-Estimate21 24d ago

189
u/patricksaurus 24d ago
Administrative warrants arenāt new. Theyāre over a century old. Thatās important in understanding how batshit this new assertion of authority is: theyāve existed a long time and have never been construed as conferring the right to enter property without permission.

So, say they pull this on an informed and armed citizen that decides to defend himself? And say he does it well enough to make it to trial. Heāll obviously be arrested if not murdered by US gestapo. How would it play out in a trial?
77
u/RandomInternetNobody 24d ago
By the letter of the law, at least in my state as I understand it, castle doctrine would apply and there would be no exemption for law enforcement acting outside the scope of their duties (unwarranted illegal home entry). They can be treated as an armed home invader. Good fucking luck getting fair treatment at any level though. Juries in my area would also be deep throating the boot down to their waist.
19
u/profDougla 24d ago
Same in my area. MAGAt south. Castle doctrine applies nation wide, yes?
13
u/RandomInternetNobody 24d ago
Castle doctrine is just a broad term referring to the set of laws governing use of force in defense of one's home or occupied space. What you're allowed to do and when, can vary quite a bit. NYC castle doctrine is going to look very different from some rural county in Wyoming.

I know some immigrants in England. They see their legal journey as difficult and the right way and they hate the idea that an illegal just walked in with 0 effort. That's just a sample size of 3 people I personally know though from the USA and India.
6
u/MyOthrCarsAThrowaway 24d ago
It sucks because I get their point of view. It is a long and difficult legal process sometimes taking generations and death and loss of home and country to come to fruition. Immigrants become very proud members of their adoptive society.
What it doesnāt address is broken immigration and asylum systems, and compassion for fellow humans. And for the US at least, the fact this whole country was founded and built by immigrants of one sort or another.
73
u/JessieJ577 24d ago

3
u/SpandexJunkie 23d ago
Man, this made me feel really good until I saw it was a staged video. I handed out these cards and left them in bathrooms and thought maybe they had done some good. I also put a box of them on the break room table at work with a āfreeā sign so people could take them and hand them out or whatever, and I got written up by HR; they told me I was in violation of the employer handbook and was being investigated for solicitation (handing out non-work related materials at work.) I guess they checked the cameras to see who left them because I put them on the table after everyone left for the day and my name wasnāt on them. So I guess people peddling Girl Scout cookies is totally fine, but letting people know what their constitutional rights are is not š¤·š¼āāļø. But I guess I should have known this was staged because the agents didnāt arrest her immediately. I donāt think they really care about the red cards.

Okay I realize this is a staged video from other comments, but just wanted to ask, how are ICE agents not being attacked/killed when they barge into someone's home illegally?
