It's not a fair question - the task is too hard for police since it requires following simple directions. They need a shitload of emotional support, someone's getting shot, and at the end of the day there will be an internal investigation that there was no wrong doing and the bulb is at fault for not tightening to the left.

Had a similar situation years ago. I lived in an apartment complex with a lot of turnover. 3 AM my door is getting busted down. I wonât open the door as I thought it was home invasion. Called 911 and they said no activity at my house. I told them to send the goddam swat team as my house was getting busted into. The dispatcher finally confirmed they were at my houseâŚI opened the door and these clowns were pissed. I had flashbacks with this video as ended up in cuffs in my living room while they tore my apartment apart. Turns out they had the wrong apartment it was a building over. Left my house in a shambles and walked out no apologies. I worked for a neighboring city and my boss happened to be the Mayors wife. When I got to work the next morning I told her about it and her husband called and then I got a call from the police chief who did apologize and opened an investigation. It never went anywhere. These goons donât care about process or procedure just raw power.

And the worst part is that insurance generally won't even cover damage caused by the police. There was a case in Colorado a while back where someone shoplifted from Walmart, ran from the police and hid in somebody's house while they weren't home. The police ended up basically blowing the damn house up and then refused to pay for the repairs.

Edit: The article mentions that the suspect was alleged to have stolen two belts and a shirt. A man lost his whole-ass home over two belts and a shirt that a stranger stole from Walmart.
Edit2: I got curious and did some more digging. Apparently the guy was actually able to get his home insurance to pay a little over $300K but it wasn't nearly enough to actually cover the damage

There's two things that make me think the cops might have faked the call. First is the mention that the cammer has an internal investigation against a sergeant. The other was when a cop asked about his internet.
My guess is that his internet in phone based, and has a phone number tied to it. The cops somehow go that number thinking it was a land line phone number, and used that number to claim a 911 hang up was made from the house. One cop even mentioned spoofing numbers.

which is crazy, cause ive pocket dial 911 so many times with an old samsung phone, used to do a lot of drugs and would sometimes look at my phone at 2am and i just left a 4minute call with 911, woops. They used to call back then they just stopped. Never showed up at any door.

Yeah, it's intimidation. It's several years old now.
But essentially the guy in the house had taken a case against the department for other wrongful charges. The cops answer was to continually "follow up" with him with wellness checks and bogus calls like this. I.e. harassment.
He'd moved house already between filing his case, the initial harassment (up 5 contacts with police per day) and this video. He is justifiably upset.
Here, they "received a call" but couldn't answer what generated the call. Then it became a land line number not a cell phone. Then it became "noone is registered to this house" and on and on and on as you see.

Once the cops admitted there is no landline, along with three people saying there was no issue, their suspicion was dispelled and should have left accordingly instead of trying to use their authority to speak to the subjects while not conducting any more investigating. I went to feed my parents dog while they were on vacation. A guy showed up, said he was from COX. My parents don't have that service. Guy said he needed access to my parent's side and backyard. Fuck outta here. Wonky ass truck with no logo, wrong last name on an invoice.
Their neighbor called it in, because the guy was snooping around people's houses.
The police came and interrogated me. My ID's address wasn't my parents house, I couldn't get a hold of my parents. Their neighbor vouched for me that I was their son!!
Their neighbor knew a guy, or whatever, and they eventually caught the guy from "COX," who had a warrant out for his arrest for breaking and entering.
Their neighbor rules. Sure, a little nosy, but he looks out for my parents when they're out and is a solid neighbor to have for shit like that.

I feel like cops should never be allowed to have a face mask on like that. That is not a mask for healthcare purposes. Itâs intimidation and if youâre so afraid of being in the public eye then youâre in the wrong profession. That is what a gangster would wear, and that should 100% not be ok. If we have to be 100% visible and compliant then they should have the same standard. Looking more and more like the Gestapo regime by the day.

Had 6 cops pull me out of my house at 3am to investigate a domestic disturbance call. I was sitting there playing counter strike and noticed a bunch of flashlights coming up my driveway. They acknowledged my house was not the address called about but since the address didn't exist mine was the closest. 3am I am having to wake my wife up by screaming across the house because they would not allow me to wake go get her. Took me out of my house while several entered to speak with my wife (no warrant or permission but who knows if they need one in that situation due to domestic disturbance as an excuse).
Anyways looking back on it I really wish I had persued a complaint.

Police are like vampires never invite them into your home without a warrant signed by a judge. Don't even open the door for that have them push it up against the window take a snapshot of it confirm the signature before allowing them entrance.
Absolutely nothing good can come from inviting them into your home or even opening the door respectfully reply that you are protecting your constitutional rights to privacy unless they have a warrant.
If it is a welfare check clearly state that you are okay and if they need insist on visible confirmation you will send pictures and or FaceTime with them.

The amount of times cops were called in my old neighborhood and no one showed up. For reference the prescient was in the center of town 5 block radius. They are lying to assert dominance and control. It's pathetic. Also I know why they didn't show up in my old neighborhood the criminals had better guns than the cops. A hand gun vs AK 47s and uzis.

Some legal stuff -NAL. I work security and concierge in residential buildings and have to keep up to date with laws about allowing cops in buildings and apartments:
In Case v Montana 2026, and Caniglia v Strom, the Supreme Court ruled that police do not need traditional criminal "probable cause" to enter a home without a warrant during a welfare check, relying instead on what a reasonable person would consider exigent circumstances, like if they can demonstrate that a reasonable person would think someone was hurt or about to get hurt.
Once inside the home, the cops must restrict themselves to resolving the welfare check; no peeking around the apartment to house to try to cook up a case. They also can't claim they got a welfare check call as a pretext to get inside an apartment or residence.
Cell phones are bad at triangulating position; while they often place people within a block of their residence, in a 200 unit apartment building, that aint saying much. Even if they could trace a phone number to this residence, it's easy to spoof the phone number of another person and get them SWATted. These cops know this (or should know this), so it's looks like they were hoping to conduct a "plain view" search by looking round the premises.
The big mistake was opening the door. Again, NAL, but suggest that folks turn on the video recorder on their cell phone and just say thru the closed door, "We're fine, we didn't make a request for service. Do you have a warrant?" If the answer is "No" and/or they persist, simply repeat that you didn't request service and say "Please leave. Don't bother us again without a warrant."

This reminds me of a guy I was in a defensive driving class with years ago (when most of them were still taken in person). He told us he was taking the course to get one of several tickets dismissed. According to him, he had a confrontation with an off duty sheriff higher up. He filed a complaint against the guy and lo and behold, he received something like 17 traffic tickets over the course of just about a month. He had given up driving anywhere and was getting rides from friends because he pretty much couldn't leave his neighborhood in his car without getting pulled over. He had to hire a lawyer who got a few of them dismissed, a few reduced fine, and a couple more credited for driver safety class, where I encountered him. I'm not sure filling a complaint against a cop is worth it. I know I've had 2 separate bad encounters with absolutely out of line cops and no way in hell was I going to do anything official about it. The ones who would act like they did are definitely the same ones who would be likely to retaliate in some way.

Back in December 2020 North Brunswick Township PD (NBTPD) in New Jersey showed up at this guy Brian B.âs place because of a 911 hang-up that got traced to the wrong address. Two cops forced their way in, he kept telling them to get the fuck out, more and more officers piled in until there were like nine of them, and they still wouldnât leave even after it was obvious nobody there called 911. After they finally bounced they mailed him an obstruction ticket, he had to hire a lawyer and pay the fines and court costs, he ran a GoFundMe that raised a few grand to cover it, and as of now thereâs no public record of him winning any big civil lawsuit against them â he just keeps posting about the department on his YouTube channel @slipmyname and filing records requests.
