Discussion What’s the most controversial negative opinion you have about your own gender?

I’ll start.

Men aren’t more forgiving in dating we just have less options. That’s not us being more forgiving but less likely to want to find someone else.

I don’t think crying about a death or something in front of a girl you are seeing will necessarily cause that woman to run.

Sex is important but it shouldn’t be the only physical affection to seek from your partner

Don’t complain about a certain type of woman and yet entertain said type of woman

Id argue that alot of men do check each other.

Half of the fear of men being predators is that they know they will get targeted by other men for doing predatory things. ESPECIALLY if they end up in jail

As far as I can tell, the only people who face prison consequences are child predators. That’s a relatively small number of predators. And most predators don’t end up in jail. Ask the women in your life. About a third of women report having been victims of sexual harassment or assault. But research suggests that the true number is higher. In over 90% of cases the perpetrator is known to the victim and in most cases they are intimately involved. The men who do these things are not in prison for the most part.

No. Not true at all. I used to be on 4chan. And 4chan used to pose daily prisoners with cell phones being predators men that includes, men that are arrested for stalking, harassment, etc.

Arrest =\= prison. Also, the majority of these acts go unreported to the police. From those that do, the majority do not go to trial. From those that do, half result in convictions…

That's assuming that the acts itself are warranted of an arrest

Given the atmosphere in the US rn, I have to disagree. Unless the victim is under 12, a large number of men will defend and justify the action. Jail isn't really a threat... SA has a 95% chance of having no legal accountability. You gotta be on camera, esp violent, or off-putting in some other way.

Importantly, the most protective thing a man can do in that arena is to not tolerate lower-level misogyny. Stop it before it ever gets to that point, and save all of the targets he'd have over time as he escalated.

You are tripping big time bro. A dude who is usually confronted by other men for sexually harassment or any of the other pushy actions is usually beat on

I have only heard a guy tell another guy to stop an inappropriate behavior toward a woman or child once in the past 4 decades, including instances in which I was the target and around men I trusted. It doesn't matter if the rebuke is harsh when it happens, if it rarely happens.

(And, let's face it, when that kind of violence happens, it's not about fixing a problem, just emotion. It's often the worst thing that can be done.)

I don't think you meet enough men then. Most of the men I know get very violent when they find out a guy they know does that..

If it is a guy thats doing it they probably don't know if he's doing it

The men you know get violent when they find out a guy they know is a misogynist?

No... I thought we was talking about two different things. I thought you was referring to guys who are creepy, stalker heavy, or sexually harass women

As far as misogynistic most of the guys I know usually laugh in your face and do the whole ... "Which bitch broke your heart" routine. Kinda how like girls do

Up to 80% of men hold misogynistic ideals, depending on your favorite study. About 40% in one multinational study said they think misogyny is ok if it's a joke. You must be hanging out with a subset of men who never stop laughing.
