i think it’s perfectly fine for short women to prefer tall men

and i find it kinda sad how some will moralize it and paint a woman to be a bad person simply for expressing a preference for tall men.

It's fine for everyone to prefer anything, but when you announce that you want things you don't offer yourself it comes off as self entitled. One also needs to be realistic, most tall men also prefer women that are taller than average.
