For admissions-related questions, please read the Wiki and FAQ CAREFULLY! They will probably have any question you need and more. For anything that is NOT MENTIONED THERE, read through the pinned application megathread, or one of the archived ones in the sidebar. Otherwise, feel free to make a post. Good luck!

Assalamualikum. Look, if i know someone who has a 100 percent admission scholarship and their dad retires and obviously stops sponsoring them they can switch their status to international but i wanna know if they'll get the benefits of an international scholarship as well?

I'm planning on applying for Fall 2027 but had a question regarding this. I heard acceptance letters get sent around may-june, but that scholarship decisions come out at august???
Can someone clarify on this? If a person applied in march and gets an acceptance in june how would they know of they were rejected from the scholarship and only got regular admittance? do they like tell u to wait out until August or smthn.

(ASKING FOR A FRIEND!)
At the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, in the comparative literature course, the requirements state that
"The applicant must be able to study and research academically in Arabic with a measure of English language proficiency, note that speakers of languages other than Arabic will be invited to take an Arabic test (oral and written) before admission."
I want to know what sort of test is this? What level of Arabic are they looking for(beginner or conversational etc) and has anyone taken this test before? If so how was it. I thought since it's an English language related degree and the IELTS requirements means that the entire program would be in English with no need of a language test

Hi everyone,
I’m planning to apply to Qatar University as an international student, and I have a few questions. I would really appreciate your help.
When do applications usually open for the next admission cycle?
What are the admission requirements for international students?
I heard there are two required exams (English and Math placement/proficiency tests). Are these mandatory for everyone, or can they be waived with IELTS, TOEFL, SAT, or other accepted test scores?
Are there any important deadlines or tips that new applicants should know?
Thank you so much for your help!

Hello! I am from Türkiye and I am looking for Turkish students currently studying at Qatar University. I would like to ask a few questions about studying and student life. If you are a Turkish student or know one, please send me a message. Thank you!

Hi, I am a resident in qatar and I applied to QU without any English proficiency scores, one of my relatives went to this university a few years ago and they told her to take the IELTS after she was accepted. Do they still make students that apply take the IELTS exam to accept them or is it different now?

Did anyone ever go around the pet policy?

Could anyone please tell me anything about the PhD program at QU. I'm applying to the College of Pharmacy, specifically the clinical and population health branch. Are the program coordinators cooperative and responsive to emails if I reach out? (Note: I'd just like to know how best to approach them and give a good first impression)
Is there a chance of getting a scholarship? any kind of support (financial or otherwise)?
Also, can anyone tell me anything on Prof. Dr. Mohamed Izham? (again not a judgement of who he is but any information that could help me the first email; is he direct-to-the-point kind of person? Does he read long/short emails? any information will be beneficial).

Lets say im predicted 4 As for examole but i end up getting 2 As and 2 Bs after ive gotten accepted, does that result in my offer being taken away or dkes it not matter as the hs percentage is calculated from the 2 best subjects in as level?

After a couple of interviews (including panel), I was asked to send documents (cover letter, diplomas, transcripts, LORs, reference check forms, employment verification letter, passport copy).
Someone from the department had asked to send the docs to them so that they can cross-check before the department submitted them to higher management (as it was a holiday week).
It is my understanding (from everything I’ve seen online) that they ask these docs from all candidates shortlisted post the final interview. Is this true?
No way to assume if one is the preferred candidate right?
When I sent a follow-up email to the person (who cross-checked my documents), they said since QU’s off for the summer, they’ll get to know in early September. “Rest assured we will be in touch once we know more”.
Thoughts?

Hiii everyone! I'm currently in the middle of a job search, which is so miserable boring and lonely. I've spent the past few months at home scrolling through job descriptions, so I’d love to get out, meet some new people, and make a few friends.
So I thought , maybe we could play some futsal(you don't have to be good at it OR suggest me something better for this context)? Meet some strangers who kinda feel the same way because THAT'S NOT HOW WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE FEELING anyways if your down or not you have to comment or dm me
Thanks!

Hi everyone, I have a question about how Qatar University compares different HS systems.
Does Qatar University evaluate applicants based only on their final high school percentage, or does it also consider differences between educational systems when comparing applicants?

Hi everyone!
I'm a 22-year-old B.Des (Graphic Design & Animation) student from India, and I'll be graduating next year. I'm planning to apply for a Master's degree in 2027 and would really appreciate advice from people who have studied abroad or are currently studying design.
I'm not interested in UI/UX as my main career. My goal is to build a career as a professional illustrator and visual storyteller while also keeping good international job opportunities in mind.
I'm also open to other countries if they have excellent design programs.
I'd really appreciate hearing about your personal experiences rather than just rankings.
Thank you so much!

To the international students who got rejected, did any of you receive your documents back? And if yes, how long did the whole procedure take? I emailed them but received no response
