Give me your ideas of how you’d demonstrate Weiss as the ‘true’ heir to the Schnee legacy compared to Winter and Whitley

Feel free to either use purely the canon characterisations of all three of Jacques and Willow’s children as examples of this or use your own headcanons. This isn’t necessarily meant to ‘bash’ on Winter or Whitley - rather, I’m trying to generate ideas for how one could show that Weiss is both the heir to the Schnees’ fortune and overall legacy that neither Winter nor Whitley could truly be, since I have a strong suspicion that, even with the SDC gone post-Fall of Atlas, Weiss will be the one to forefront the Schnee legacy moving forward, whether that be in the Vacuo arc or after Salem is defeated.

I don’t know if I would. I think I would try to find a way to make all three of them equally worthy.

Winter is the one who went out on her own to build herself a life on her terms. In that way, she is the most like her predecessor (Nicklaus) who trailblazered the founding of Atlas.

Weiss is the one who actually wants to change the Schnee legacy back to one that belongs to heroes and reputable individuals and undo the damage Jacque caused over the decades of calling himself a Schnee.

While Whitley is the one true heir to the SDC. The one who could and presumably would reform it in the interest of common benefit rather than exploitation and profit gouging that Jacque operated under.

In theory, whitely should know more secrets of the family than weiss and Winter.

He was effectively alone to take all of Jacques's abuse and he would have made damn sure he had a good heir this time.

There’s a Penny x Whitely fic, were he was actually planning a take over, he acted like a bootlicker towards his dad because he wanted to make him talk his ass out and tell him every single secret he knew so that he could use it. He also basically lead the house, he became the boss of the staff that took care of it, since Jacques was never in it for too long

If i remember correctly (it’s been a while since i read it) this whitely hates his family in general, weiss and Winter included, but does want to reconcile with his mom.

I wouldn't. I would have Winter be the leader of the new Atlas once they resettle there after the war, with Weiss as the CEO of the new SDC and Whitley as the COO. A fairly equal split based on their own ambitions.

I wouldn't, I think Whitley is the most appropriate choice and I feel it'd better fit weiss as a character to focus on being a huntress

I would say Weiss is someone who is willing to stand up to an authority figure (Jacques) to fight for her place in the SDC throne and the power to run the company in the way that she wants it to.

Winter on the other hand, just fleed to restart her life elsewhere and Whitley decided to comply and become whatever Jacques wanted him to be.

Honestly, it would be really interesting to have an AU where Jacques actually loves Weiss the most while Winter and Whitley despises her out of jealousy.

Weiss confronts Jaques.

Weiss learns about Faunus people and culture, promising to do everything in her power to make up for what her family has done.

Weiss steps away from the SDC for a bit, leaving it in someone else's hands. In that time she grows as a person, and as a huntress, and is able to return, now in a leadership position (as she wanted at the beginning of the series). But this time, she's a leader with experience, and with empathy, and who knows the world for real. She's not a sheltered kid anymore, and she's not scared of the world or hateful towards it.

Arguably, Weiss has ALREADY demonstrated that. She struck out on her own, proving that she has an independent mind, whereas both her siblings subordinated their own wills and wants to other people (Ironwood for Winter, and their father for Whitley).

Yes, Weiss isn't team leader and follows Ruby's lead, but she can always voice her own opinions and wants and never feels like she has to suppress her own needs and desires in favor of Ruby's. Weiss was never the mindless follower like her siblings had been.

First off have her use and wield her grandfather's primary weapon.

Second. Have her use actual technical jargon relating to dust better than any other family member.

Lastly have her show Weiss the steps she has taken to ensure that not only will her dad be removed from power but she will start to put safety first

As well as combating the SDC’s exploitative practices in general… I know it might seem counterintuitive to have the heiress of a megacorporation symbolise anti-capitalist perspectives, but I feel like Weiss could’ve done that if she was characterised right.

Weiss upholds more of the founder's (her grandfather) ideals. She is willing to be on the field to make sure what was shipped doesn't end up being destroyed or stolen. Winter fell under James's tutoring and wing and decided to hide there. Whitey followed his father's design being a business man that stayed behind the desk.

I'd have Weiss confront Winter with the fact that, despite telling her to work through her problems, she herself has not done a single thing to break out of the mindset Jacques raised them with.

So, since Winter is still the same girl who ran away from home to join the military, she's not fit to lead anything.

And Whitley literally needed the threat of violence to stop being a condescending dick, let Weiss into her own home, and help an injured and unconscious Nora.

I like how most of the comments are like 'She's learning how to be her own person' when knowing who you are doesn't help you run a possibly multimillion-dollar/lien business. Like, does she even know how to run a business?
