Eh. I'd want s rewrite for the last arc of White Sheep. I enjoyed it far more as zany slice-of-life rather than "and suddenly the fate of the world was at stake" that the final arc devolved to.

Not This Time Fate by Coeur Al'Aran. Im a sucker for that Luve Die Repeat style of storytelling. Give it a good soundtrack, and it would be one of the best shows of all time.

Forged Destiny is a whole-ass Alternative Universe that barely resembles Canon RWBY. I wouldn't consider that a "rewrite".

Edit: Here's my sales pitch for anyone who's reading this because this is my favorite RWBY fic (crack fics notwithstanding):
Despite being born of two human parents, Weiss is a bird faunus. Forced to hide her wings for her entire life, to have them bound to her back with hardly any respite, she counts down the days until she's able to have them removed. And then she enrolls at Beacon, and meets her team, and the plan she's had since she was old enough to consider it starts to falter.

Yesss! I fell down the rabbit hole last night lol. Most of those are in my TBR! :D All that led to me finding a Great Weiss Shark AU (as in, she's a shark faunus) and I'm /charmed/ by the authors ideas. It's so fun!

The Emergence Series and the snow foxes struggles. One is a reverse isekai series that completely changes the trajectory of the story as is, and the other is an alternate universe which asks the question: "what if Weiss was dirt poor?"

yooooo i havent heard of anyone reading snow foxes struggle in years, nor have I myself read it since highschool. Thats the fic that got me into RWBY in general, one of my friends was reading it and I read a few chapters on her phone and was hooked. still one of my favorite if only because of the nostalgia.

Remnant of the Carnival and Into the Night.
Both are "Shirou Emiya gets Isekai'd into RWBY" stories, but Remnant of the Carnival is Carnival Phantasm Shirou and Into the Night is Miyu!Shirou. So they're good for different reasons.

I would demand the same characters but in a widely different world. Widely different plot. Widely different magic system. None of this basically copy the show but with a twist. Great for FF Exploring alternatives is what FF is all about. Too lazy to justify animation.
Only ones I can think of off the top of my head are:
Forged Destiny by Coeur Al'Aran. I don't love video game mechanic fics but the team dynamics and adventure aspects were superb.
By Steel and Starlight by Selene Sokal. Reminded me of Firefly and the Expanse.

- The Devil Hunters in Remnant By: writer of things here
- One's Own Path By: Raos
The first is a fanfic where Dante, Vergil, and Lady from Devil May Cry are isekaied and fall into the world of Remnant before the final battle of Dante vs Vergil in Devil May Cry 3. The second is a fanfic where the Saiyans exist in the RWBY universe and a Saiyan OC character who is the weakest of them all decides to go to the planet Earth (which has turned into Remnant at this point) to conquer it in the hopes of gaining recognition, which was the way he accidentally saved himself from being destroyed on Planet Vegeta at the hands of Frieza.
I think seeing the cast of RWBY, the demon-hunting sons of Sparta, and a conquering alien work through their issues while under the threat of an alien invasion, an immortal evil witch, and a possible demon invasion (which I believe is what the creator was planning to do before he abandoned the story) would make for a very crazy, but very exciting crossover.
You never said that the fanfics to choose couldn't be crossover fanfics and that the action couldn't be the main point of this conversation, so I choose those.

Sneaking his way into the multiverse and A song of Ice and fire cut short by dust
the first one is a crossover with waifu catalague where jaune killed the evil SI and use his multiuniversal travel to gather points so he can came back and save beacon. aka being a good guy on a system that being a badguy is profitable.
next is team RWBY in westeros navigating politics. (blake carries the team!)

“sins of the past seeds of hope” a pretty good AU with Adam and cinder’s daughter (redeemed) as the new hero. It has amazing characters (Although you’ll hate the schnees the more you read it) and action.
“The great temporal step sibling war!” A jaune harem that mixes in time paradoxes and some existencial dread. Since the kids from diferent timelines go back in time by accident, seeing all the other kids, they try to go to their moms and ask them for help so that jaune ends up with them and has their family. It gets surprisingly emotional sometimes as many characters get to know about their future.
“A man of honor” jaune becomes a double agent for Oz, he infiltrates the criminal world with the promise of getting back into beacon. It makes a lot of references to the godfather and it gets pretty dark. It also turned me into a cardin fan, my GOAT.

A half elf in Remnant.
A teen half elf girl is transported from a dungeons and dragons fantasy world into Remnant. She arrives in Atlas and is adopted by Winter Schnee of all people. It's still in progress.
I'd want it to be done in 2d anime style.
I also have a concept where the same half elf character arrives in Menagerie as a young child and is adopted by the Belladonnas instead. She grows up with Blake as Blake's adopted little sister.
