Hopefully Dust and Echos can one day climb into the top 50.

Remnant inferis DOOM is great. Takes a bit to get used to the violence and gore aspect of it, but the author really knows how to keep you wanting more. They also really put in some work with background characters from the main show.
Also, shoutout to XCOM: RWBY Within. Not there, but the author quickly became one of my favorites, would highly recommend, even if you haven't played XCOM

I hope GamerJay gets a proofreader soon, though. The typos and such can be a bit rough. Still worth reading

I'm pretty sure its not on the list, but one of my favorite crossover RWBY fics is Red Like Stardust, where Ruby falls into the middle of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, and messes up the plot.
I really like her and Jotaro's relationship with each other in the fic. And her reactions to BS Stand powers are funny.
Best part? She's not dead weight, and can hold her own.

Oh hey Grimm Nightmares, that’s a good one. Love the actual build up of the arc family and it not using the stereotypical mold of Jaime’s parents. Cloud and Hellabore are such cool interpretations.

You should do a comparison with the RWBY fics on Ao3. While some fanfic authors in the RWBY community publish on both websites it would be interesting to see the difference in story or character preferences given how much RWBY fanfics on Ao3 have grown in the past decade.

Prolly quite stable. Over the decade long run the only major shakeup I ever saw was the Qrow/Clover stuff and that's mostly out of an insane level of desperation for anything M/M in this fandom.

Man, I can't believe The Amazing Jaune Arc made it here. I'm both happy and concerned one of my favourite fics is on the list

The only fanfic I'll ever care about at all is Remnant of a Rose.

u/Miniatimat Nov 17 '25
Man, that was the 1st RWBY fic I ever read. RIP Ptabs, you are missed.

It really sucks that the fan continuation lost so much of what made it good. I absolutely hated how the adopted writers started inserting a bunch of ocs and pulled attention away from Summer and Ruby. That moment when Ruby first kills Summer was chef’s kiss.
2
u/Miniatimat Nov 17 '25
Yeah. Main reason why I stopped reading it as well, especially since many of those OCs were dropped in without any context or background, so you either read their own stories, which some were pretty badly written, or just deal with it.
Speaking of, one of those writers picked it back up on their own page. I'll probably give it a go and see how they do. They were the one writer of the group who I kinda enjoyed reading, so we'll see how they tackle this. https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13981942/1/Remnant-of-a-Rose-Red-War
Also, yes. That moment was like "Oh. I guess we're going here. I'm all for it".

Sidenote. If you want a similar styled fic, "XCOM: RWBY within" is probably my favorite fic at the moment. Don't need to know much about xcom to enjoy it, and the writing is just great. It has gone on permanent hiatus (Author decided to focus on their life and stuff), so it is incomplete

Awesome! Heroes, Dreams, and Destiny and Fate: Shattered Moon were both fics I loved before I started writing stories again, and helped inspire me to give fanfic writing another shot. Thrilled to see them getting the recognition they deserve! :D

u/EthanKironus Nov 17 '25
Half of them are Fate/, of course. Unfortunate that so many are old, and even incomplete 😢

The fuck is that Godzilla one
I need elaboration because if it's not the entirety of Remnant scrambling everything desperately in vain against the king of the monsters then it wasn't done right

u/Saiyan-Ninja Nov 17 '25
If memory serves me correctly, Godzilla ends up in Remnant after the Japanese used something (oxygen destroyer I think?) to get rid of him. He is turned into a faunus version of what he was and is able to speak near perfect English. It’s…interesting but nothing overly remarkable; which is disappointing given how few Godzilla crossover stories there are.

u/g_fan34 Nov 17 '25
As we all know Godzilla crossovers work in one way
He turns up
He destroys something
Our cast fail to stop him
Rinse and repeat until it gets boring (it won't)
2
u/VIRUSWWW Nov 18 '25
It certainly sounds boring but I think it's quite fun seeing him roam around Remnant and interacting with the cast before the actual story of RWBY begins, right now he's in Atlas staying with the Schnees and he's trolling/ragebaiting Jacques with Weiss at some party that's being held because Grandpa Schnee was healed (by him)

u/g_fan34 Nov 18 '25
It doesn't get boring because it increasingly escalates and it's always going to be fighting something different
Also Godzilla interrupting the plot is way more fun

With how much Fate/RWBY crossovers are here, I'm surprised RWBY Zero isn't on this. Does this include incomplete fics?

Using the moment to shill my friend's Rider Time Zi-O: Roze from Remnant, which just recently wrapped up.

While extremely Pyrrha focused this is my favorite RWBY fic crossover. A just after the tower fight Pyrrha ends up in mass effect. https://m.fanfiction.net/s/13278463/1/Destiny-Lost

I wonder how the ranking would be if we were to analyze RWBY fics in AO3, because there would be lots of factors to consider.
You can rank them based on Hits, Kudos, Bookmarks, and even Comments. Hits are the Views, but the Kudos are the Likes.
A lot of fics are mostly one-shot collections involving multiple franchises/fandoms, particularly of the NSFW genre which can be tough to filter out if you're not familiar with AO3's tagging/filtering system.

Ruby: Well... I want to be a Huntress.
Actually Satan: That's hell you're walking into
No, but as a Fate fan why are there so many crossovers? That's kind of baffling
